Gender and orientation are two entirely different things, having nothing to do with each other. When she was in a male body, she would simply have been considered straight. Aigning her physicality with her understanding of her self, that didn't change her orientation.
So, maybe you could say the above, but none of the transgendered people I've known have described it as such.
