A Film About Transgenderism

I think they should team up again and a write/direct a film that focuses on transgenderism; obviously, in a positive, optimistic sense. Not only is it personal for both of them, it would fit into their filmography quite well, considering their films usually deal with existentialism. Now, I haven't seen The Danish Girl, but I really liked The Matrix franchise and Cloud Atlas. Nothing is worse than wasted talent, and these filmmakers are in no way "too old". Hopefully their troubles are behind them, and they can make a solid comeback (as I've heard speed racer and Jupiter ascending were sub par). Something deep- something meaningful- something RELEVANT. It makes perfect sense- it just takes a solid actor to take the lead. Thoughts?

TLDR: The Wachoskis should make a meaningful film about modern transgenderism. Something to make the average population get a better grasp on it.

"The average population" happens to not like a bunch of great films. It's a relevant topic, that's also controversial. If there was one, or two, directors that could pull it off, it is them. They just need a good concept to work with- like the matrix. I somewhat have a hard time relating to the topic, as I'm sure many people are. I think the Wachowskis could shed some light on transgenderism in a deep meaningful way. All I'm sayin. Haven't seen their latest work,

Who would go to see it? Im not implying any insult I'm asking a genuine question. The average person doesn't care... At all. Not in a bad way either. They don't care because they believe people can live how they want so there is no reason to try and convince them its OK or educate them. Live and let live.

If the point of the movie was to change the mins of bigots, well that would never happen. They wouldn't care to see it either.

seems like you're pretty close minded. The film wouldn't have to directly deal with the subject. It could be a subtext. The whole film wouldn't have to deal with a main character that's trans. I could see that being over the top for some. And believe it or not/ tons of people would go see it

I'd much rather see them make another cool Sci-Fi film with a Transgender protagonist & Transgenderism as a subplot.

The Wachowskis are very good at that genre, I'd rather them do that than some dramatic film about being Transgender. Oscar bait isn't their thing.
