Lilly coming out makes you rethink their body of work doesn't it ?

Like one thing is that you start seeing the themes , I mean Almost all Wachowski movies are about people who discover they aren't who they think they are.But there are things I really worry about.

I mean the Matrix was always a pretty on the nose metaphor for social conditioning imprisoning the individual but I used to think the philosophy behind the more over the top moments were about them having total freedom to make what they wanted to make , to not obey the rules that would apply to any other movie, to blow you away with total control and confidence. But now I wonder how free they were. Are scenes like when they break out Morpheus a bombastic way to hide their insecurities ?

I don't think it matter what inspired them to come up with this movie, all that should matter to the viewer is the impression, and the message that they got from the movie. I personally didn't think it had layers or undertones of metaphoric value. To me the movie was pretty straight forward, and when it comes down to it, 100% science fiction.
