The story is this was supposed to be the final scene in "Girls Town," but was deleted because the studio was pressured by Cardinal Spelman and other religious zealots. They thought it was indecent.

It's innocuous by today's standards, but was pretty racy for the '50's. I wish they had left it in. It's fantastic!!

Thankyou bh7, I just saw Paul Anka (who wrote the songs),
on tv last night on some late show singing. He turned a Nirvana song
into a swing/jazz/oldie song; I like the original version best,
but I like his version too.

Her scene is tastefull--(I don't see anything wrong with it either.
I guess it was a bit daring--for the 50's, but yet it's
such a cool song and Mamie looks so beautiful!) I just wish that
Mamie would sing more or release a new album, she's got a lovely voice!

I've never seen Girls Town, but it seems
like it might be a funny movie.
