Always Going To Be Amy Abbott

I hate to say this but no matter how hard Emily tries she is always going to be Amy Abbott. Even though she has a new roll on Brothers & Sisters, whenever I look at her I think "hey there's Amy!". I don't think there's nothing that she can do that will shake that image.

I miss her as Amy. I watch Brothers and Sisters every week but it's just not the same I don't like Rebecca :(

What's not the same? She played a spoiled, self-centered character on Everwood and now she's playing another spoiled, self-centered character on Brothers & Sisters. But it's true, she'll always be Amy Abbott to me.

If after last night's episode of Brothers & Sisters, you really think Rebecca Harper is the same as Amy Abbott, you must have been watching a different version of Everwood than I did.

As for always seeing Emily as Amy, I have no problem seperating characters played by the same actor or actress, even after seeing them play a role for a long time. It's simply a matter of surrendering yourself to the story and simply observing the characters, not the actors playing them.

Maybe they can bring Gregory Smith into the show as well.
and they can continue to be a couple... ummm.....

Not Necessarily:

I didn't watch everwood, so I have no idea who amy abbott was.

I remember after Roswell ended seeing a similar quote about Katherine Heigl, how she would always be Isabel Evans, but now she she is much more famous for being Izzy Stevens. Or MacGuyver. Richard Dean Anderson went on to become as famous for being Jack O'Neill on Stargate.

Remember this girl is only what... 21, she has an entire career to come and i'm sure she will be remembered for other roles as well. Lets wait until she is in her 70's and say that she was like Bob Denver (Gilligan), Larry Hagman (JR) or even Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).

Don't condemn her to one role or talents like Kristen Bell will only be known as Veronica Mars or Kristen Kreuk and Tom Welling will forever be Lana Lang and Clark Kent.

This idea of boxing actors into certain roles, leads to problems for these actors like Gary Coleman, Emmanuel Lewis or Barry Williams who could never move on from their roles, and arguably led to the death of Dana Plato.

Yeah Amy Abbott was awesome. I don't watch Brother's & Sister's every week, but when I see the ones with Emily, I can't help but think of her on Everwood.
