I'm kinda worried about her performance in Captain America: Civil War

there's no doubt that evc is gorgeous.

cw is a huge blockbuster movie. sharon carter in the comics is complex; she's badass, emotional, and tough. i'm not sure if evc has the wide range and subtle facial expressions, voice tones, body language to pull off sharon carter.

evc tends to whisper-talk too much and i've noticed she pulls the same wide eyed, head down tilt over and over again.

in some scenes she spits her lines out too fast instead of feeling the lines and pausing when required.

i've seen strong performances from her in revenge, but her acting is not consistently good if you compare her to elena satine who plays louise whose acting is always natural and fluid.

i liked her 3 minutes screen time in cap 2 and i hope she rises to the challenge for cap 3.

You realize you described Emily Thorne too. If she could handle that she can most definently handle this.

i hope so. evc was mostly solid in seasons 1-3, but in the last her performance was patchy, inconsistent. after watching charlize theron's furiosa, i kinda want sharon carter to be that badass and well acted.

She's the worst and I would hate for her to play Cap's love interest. She's NOT a good actress.

I don't think anyone on that show was too happy to drag out into season 4==maybe their thinking began to have an influence on their acting alittle more? I think some of the main actors that had been there from Season 1 #1 were kind of tired of it all.

I get what you're saying about EVC's range and you make good points. She can't just try and look 'steely' with her eyes; her body language has to show it, also.

no i only saw it from evc in the last season where she was phoning it in in some parts. mann, stowe, and weschler were all consistent. satine and varnasse since they're recent additions always brought their A game.

that's it, evc needs to act with her entire being and fully embody the character and her voice acting needs work, tones off at times, whisper-talks too much. in revenge she says her lines like she's spitting them out too fast before she forgets them. which is why i've noticed her good performances are usually the ones where she doesn't have long lines to remember.

She's been playing that character pretty much on Revenge for four years. I'm sure she can do it. I trust the casting in all MCU major and supporting characters so far so I'm sure they picked her for a reason.

here's hoping she can. so far we know that she's in a scene with clint and scott, the funeral, and a cafe/restaurant scene with steve. she has been spottted in l.a. a few times since may, but i thought she'd be filming cw in atlanta?

reply

She may be done filming already. I don't think she has large part. In the marvel press release her name is not among the first group of actors listed. She's credited under "additional cast include" or words to that effect.

I have my doubts that she will be a popular character. Sharon seems to be very polarizing among the fan base as some don't like her as the new love interest. Even Hayley Atwell has joked about it and said that she doesn't think Steve should date Sharon.
