What a thankless, awful role. But I have a lot of admiration for Tudyk for taking it on. I found a good interview where he talks about how he got into character and how much he didn't like it.

Ya I absolutely hated Tudyk's character. I find Alan to be a great actor who can be comical and serious but I just felt bad that he had to embody such a horrible person in this movie.

sharehe's an actor. if you felt some hatred for the character then he did his job really well. i thought it was a great performance. he was mean and nasty but not too cartoonishly villainous.

That role was despicable and vile. He played it brilliantly, and I am impressed because I know him mostly from comedies.

shareExcellent performance in a difficult role. That whole scene I was tearing my mind apart trying to figure out where the hell I knew that face from. Turned out he was the young silicon valley billionaire that 'stole' Frasier's apartment in the Season 8 episode 'The Great Crane Robbery'.
Good thing I finally decided to look it up, because I would have NEVER put that together.
