Something for Trump fans to keep in perspective...

Aw, you poor dear!

You probably imagine Trump voters as fat, lazy, uninformed trailer-park dwellers, like most Democrats do.

By that logic, the majority of non-voters whom you call lazy would have voted for Trump, giving him an even larger margin of victory had they turned out.

I'm not sure I'd characterise people who choose not to vote as 'lazy'. People have all sorts of reasons for not voting. A lot of people feel disenfranchised by the choices on offer ('They're all as bad as each other'). Or, if you live in a constituency where there's an overwhelming majority in favour of one party and your preference is for the other, your vote isn't going to make much of a difference. Likewise, if you favour a third party candidate... so why should they take time out from their days to register a vote that is effectively redundant? Many people simply aren't engaged with politics, don't feel they know enough, think it doesn't affect their lives and / or that whoever they vote for they're going to get shafted anyway.

I used to be in favour of compulsory voting here in the UK. Of course, if you have compulsory voting, you need to give people a 'None of the Above' option. You can't force them to vote for a candidate. I've rather gone off the idea because you just waste people's time. If they're going to show up to register a non-vote, it's the same as them as them voting.

While there is evidence that mandatory voting increases active participation in and engagement with politics, it is rather shepherding people to participate with a system. I think the right to vote should probably also come with a right not to.

And not voting would be a legitimate protest if it could be organised en masse. Reverse those figures. Imagine 2/3rds of the American people had chosen not to vote. It would be hard under such circumstances to credit the winner of the election with any democratic legitimacy. So -- in theory -- not voting has some power whether it's registered at a polling booth or not.

You are talking about a lot of people. Millions.

Not all of them are lazy.

Not all of them have fat asses. Some are quite slim.

Donald Trump won the popular vote and electoral vote. He is the President-elect.

There has not yet been an election in which 100% of the eligible voting public participated. This is normal, and I bet in those elections many were stuck somewhere in the middle of the 5 stages of grief not unlike yourself. Hey get happy- you've cleared denial and anger making you half the way to being functional again.

Please stop making excuses like you do over at World of KJ and just admit Trump kicked Harris's ass and so bad, you had the Des Moines Iowa Register in the form of Ann Selzer making up Poll Numbers to reflect Harris ahead by 7 points and all because she hates the man and she stuck with that number and in her head, this was the truth and the liberal MSM bought into this bullshit too!! I said for weeks, WEEKS leading up to this election that under no circumstances was this woman ahead of Trump for someone who in 2019, Polled less than 2% and dropped out of the Race, so in essence, why would anyone believe that all of a sudden, 5 years later, she's just magically going to change people's minds?? In the end, America has simply had enough of this particular Democrat Party that needs to ditch the Progressive Bullshit and go back to what worked for them, that being "MODERATE"

OMG! Be at least honest to yourself. Look at all those Kamala interviews and ask yourself why only a minority voted for that conceptless and clueless person. Take away from that minority all those brainwashed, uneducated, bad informed "orange-man-bad-sheeple" and you have around 10% of hard-core lefties left who even know that this person was a weak candidate.
