“Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from my position at McDonald’s, effective Monday, January 20, 2025,” the letter begins.

“During my tenure here, I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve our customers and contribute to the fast-paced environment of this establishment,” wrote Trump. “From flipping burgers to making fries and managing the drive-thru, I’ve learned a lot about both the restaurant business and the value of hard work.”
The satirical letter followed a campaign stop in which Trump worked at a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, on his way to a stunning victory that included winning that state’s electoral votes. The tongue-in-cheek stunt was partially aimed at former Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, who had claimed she had worked at McDonald’s while attending college.
According to the Washington Examiner, “Several journalists dug into her narrative and struggled to get any confirmation from the corporation about her alleged employment.”
During his time as a staff member at the iconic American fast-food restaurant, Trump had the opportunity to work the register and the fry station while answering questions and meeting voters through the drive-thru window. “It requires great expertise, actually, to do it right and to do it fast,” Trump said while handling orders.
The owner of the McDonald’s location in Feasterville, Derek Giacomantonio, cited acceptance as a reason for allowing Trump to use his restaurant for his campaign. “It is a fundamental value of my organization that we proudly open our doors to everyone who visits the Feasterville community.” “That’s why I accepted former President Trump’s request to observe the transformative working experience that 1 in 8 Americans have had: a job at McDonald’s,” Giacomantonio added.
Trump ended his letter of resignation with a signature and the numbers 45 and 47. “Thank you again for everything.” he wrote. “I look forward to my next adventure, but I leave with fond memories of my time at McDonald’s.”
