Research shows that Trump supporters (not traditional Republicans) tend to be more "liberal" than either traditional dems or traditional republicans. You can see this difference in the real world as dems typically embraced the notion of the government forcing us all to take unproven and dangerous vaccines for a virus that had no, or very mild effects in the vast majority of people, while Trump supporters were horrified by the government taking such an authoritarian step.
