To all those who think it is a bad thing to hold Trump accountable in court for his actions, remember what McConnell said at the 2nd impeachment.

He said that what Trump did on Jan 6 was horrible but that impeachment wasn't appropriate when there were avenues to deal with him through the legal system.

Well, that is what is happening now. Why are you surprised and shocked when these legal proceedings were suggested by one of the leaders of your own party.

I can't stand McConnell. One of the only things he's ever said that I agree with is that Trump's actions and inactions around Jan 6 were horrible and a disgrace and danger to our nation. But I disagree with him in that he should have been convicted by the Senate and barred from ever seeking federal office again. His comments point out the hypocrisy and dishonesty of the Republican party. They won't hold Trump responsible when he is the president and say it's a crime to hold him responsible for he actions after he is president. Republicans have become a disease in this country.

Moscow Mitch and other Senate republicans were afraid of being primaried and losing their own power. Republicans want someone else (Democrats) to fight their battles for them and remove Trump and Trumpism, so they can say they had nothing to with that.
