There is NOTHING preventing Trump from running again, even from prison (see Eugene Debs). If he by some strange twist of fate did successfully run for president from prison... there is NOTHING stopping him from taking office. It's never been tested before, but there would be huge pressure to release him to serve out his term.
There are in fact only two ways, but you got the first one (potentially) wrong. Being convicted of a crime and put in prison is not a bar to running. Whether or not you could get enough votes in that position is theoretical. Debs failed in his bid. Would Trump? I would hope so but we are living in weird times. Anyway, this is the revision:
1. Trump runs from prison (or NOT from prison) and loses.
