LOCK THEM UP! The Mitch McConnell-Elaine Chao Corruption Scandal

While Americans are focused on the never-ending corruption scandals popping up all around T-rump and his spawn each day, there looks to be yet another corruption scandal brewing with another top republican: Mitch McConnell.

McConnell got a special 're-election boost' from his wife Elaine Chao, who is the United States Secretary of Transportation. Though McConnell stonewalled a plan last month to fix the nation's crumbling infrastructure (despite the urgency of the issue and the outline of the deal receiving rare support from both Democrats and the White House) he welcomed a $78M grant to fix the infrastructure fast-tracked to his state of Kentucky while he kicks off his re-election campaign. Thank You, Mrs. McConnell!

Lock them up! Drain the swamp and lock them both up!

This made news all over that scary 'mainstream media' last night - MSNBC, CNN, etc. The only ones not reporting it was - gasp! - StateTV. Tucky Carlson wasn't 'shocked', Hannity didn't put his hands in prayer position and say 'Folks, this is unbelievable...' (as he always does when reporting on a liberal candidate)...nada. Zilch.

I guess FOX is OK with this corruption?

reply

Don't you know by now that when these kinds of scandals break involving Republicans as far as their base is concerned it's not evidence of corruption...but just "doing business."

reply

Oh, don't we know it.

reply

Echo chamber accordance - yes you do.

reply

SMDH.

Oleg Deripaska is the Russian aluminum magnate who, I guess, thought Kentucky was where he'd like to be so he loaded up his truck (it was filled with mo-o-oney.)

Nothing to see here, folks!

No graft. No tit for tat. No NOTHING.

Mitch calls himself the Grim Reaper, remember?

reply

Can you imagine if this was Nancy Pelosi's district getting $78M for 'pet projects' and her husband was in the position that Chao has? They'd have her in handcuffs by now.

It's time McConnell did the right thing and resigned!

reply

Yes, it is the time for him to step down.

And no, I cannot imagine what the GOP would do if Nancy did that in her district.

On another topic:

Can you imagine if Malia Obama's boyfriend or husband was a Muslim who was hired to work in the Obama Administration based on zero experience & was put in charge of finding peace in the Middle East?

reply

Oh dear God....Republicans would have lynched the whole family in the Rose Garden.

reply

McConnell is going down. He finally got caught being the snake he is.

Snake is Trump's word, fyi. It was said as a compliment.

reply

Time for them both to resign. Especially Chao.

They did a full report on her and her scandalous behavior over the past two years since becoming Secretary on MSNBC last night. She's one of the worst Cabinet members he has. Time for her to resign.

reply

Traitors get a trial before they're hung - customarily.

Problem with that?

reply

Fair enough - we should give T-rump a trial.

Alas not yet...

Pelosi's Pet Pork Projects
By Ed Lasky
She promised no pork. Of course, that claim has been widely shown to be false. There was, for example, a green project that will benefit Congressman David Obey's son (Obey sits on the Apprropriations Committee). There are virtual earmarks hat smell of pork because the stimulus bill is drafted with such sleight of hand that essentially only one project qualifies (example, a clean coal power plant in Obama's home state of Illinois.

Incidentally, will the Illinois utility company Exelon, that has hired Obama's campaign strategist David Axelrod in the past, benefit?). Then there is a 30 million dollar grant for wetlands preservation in Speaker Pelosi's district -- a cause she has tried to fund for years and that will make a certain type of mouse happy.

https://www.frcblog.com/2009/01/not-quite-a-stimulus-speaker-pelosis-payoffs-and-pork-bill-updated/
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently found that the cost of the Pelosi-Reid stimulus package now exceeds $1.1 trillion. CBO also estimated that only 7 percent of infrastructure money would make its way into the economy by the end of the year and only 38 percent would be spent by the end of the 2010 fiscal year. Senator Jeff Session's (R-Ala.) office estimates the actual number going to tangible road and bridge construction is just a little more than 3 percent.

Where is this money going to? A not exhaustive look at the 1,588 page legislation, H.R. 1, "The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009" shows the bill is more payoffs and pork then stimulus.

reply

Not even close. Try again.

Is that the same Ruski who bought the house in Florida for 100M from trump and tore it down?
