Congressman Jerry Nadler takes a victory lap around the DoJ!

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. took a victory lap around the Department of Justice today, as Attorney General Barr caved and struck a deal to hand over documents and evidence underlying former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

BIG WIN for the Democrats, big LOSE for the failing Republicans.

The DOJ "has agreed to begin complying with our committee's subpoena by opening Robert Mueller’s most important files to us, providing us with key evidence that the special counsel used to assess whether the president and others obstructed justice or were engaged in other misconduct,” according to Nadler.

The government watchdog tasked with oversight of the FBI has initiated 10 new investigations of the bureau since last year, according to a review of archived versions of the page tracking the agency’s ongoing work.

Are you sure it's 10, Q?

Because I was told by Donald of 10,000 lies that the Trump Russia investigation was started by 13 (or was it 15? Or is it now 18?) Angry Democrats.

Your math isn't adding up today.

Also. Regarding

a review of archived versions of the page tracking the agency's ongoing work
Are you talking about another scandal involving a Senate PAGE? Or is it a HOUSE page? Or is it a PAGE PAGE?

And WHICH agency, whose work is ongoing - is being tracked? The FBI? Why? Do you not trust the FBI? So if the FBI arrests a white supremacist - you won't believe their warrant is right? What if the FBI makes an arrest of a person with a vowel at the end of - or a bin in between - his names, you won't believe the warrant either? (trick question, of COURSE you'll believe it! You'll have Hannity screeding over those names right pronto!)

Who is reviewing the archives? Is it the PAGE? Is this the Archives at the Library of Congress?

Ten brand new investigations, huh? By a 'government watchdog?' Tasked to oversee the FBI? Do tell us more! It all sounds so positively UNBELIEVABLE!

Denial is a river of your own tears.

The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is best known for its ongoing investigation of the FBI’s use of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump-campaign associate Carter Page. The inspector general has nearly completed that investigation and is expected to release a report in the coming weeks.

I only hope the Judiciary Committee has an index of all the documents they're supposed to receive...

I wouldn't put it past Barr and his hench-stooges to try something underhanded again like still withholding certain documents. Nadler should issue a warning--either direct or implied--that if there's anything fishy he's going to call for the vote of contempt against Barr immediately.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw a news clip that Nadler did just that. I'm a little behind on news right now because my TV satellite has been out for over two weeks.

Nadler is a very, very smart man. He's been beating T-rump at his own game for more than thirty years now. He's T-rump's worst enemy (along with Pelosi).

reply

What do they get in return for this deal?

reply

If you're asking about Barr, he's avoiding a very nasty court fight that would get very ugly for Republicans as Nadler was looking to enforce the subpoena taken out on Barr to turn the documents over.

That would be the last thing Barr and Republicans would want with elections in 18 months. It would not be pretty for them, and they knew they'd end up on the losing end.

It turns out that NADLER didn't really GET ANYTHING NEW from BARR afterall ...

Because BARR previously offered to let CONGRESS read COPIES of the DOCUMENTS in a PRIVATE ROOM …

which is also still the SAME THING that he agreed to let them do YESTERDAY.

Since the DOCUMENTS they will read are actually PHOTOS that were taken of the DOCUMENTS they want, and ARE NOT actually the DOCUMENTS themselves, that also means NO DOCUMENTS have ACTUALLY BEEN RELEASED to CONGRESS (which also means BARR could VERY EASILY have TAMPERED WITH the PHOTOS of the DOCUMENTS that they will be reading).

And CONGRESS is also NOT ALLOWED to TAKE PHOTOS of the PHOTOGRAPHED DOCUMENTS when they READ THEM in the PHOTOGRAPH format that BARR is ALLOWING them to look at.

Which. imo, also means NADLER has CAVED IN again to the DEMANDS made by BARR, when what he should have done was FILE the CONTEMPT CHARGE against him TODAY. [/b]

**HOUSE DEMOCRATS CRACK DOWN on (the SCAM MAN'S) FOOT-DRAGGING**

where a CONGRESSMAN explains how they still need to GO TO COURT as a way to GET ACTUAL COPIES of the DOCUMENTS that they want from BARR.

Good!

Because that reaffirms that there was nothing "new" to be had - the full report was released, cope.
