Why did Trump hate McCain?
If John McCain was so terrible then why did the Republicans make him their nominee for POTUS a few years ago? Why all the hate for him now?

shareThey were desperate, and thought an old white guy with a military background coupled with a younger female running mate could appeal to the older base voter and attract a more youthful, progressive voter. Obviously, they were wrong, but the dems were besting the "first black president" drum really hard and it worked. McCain was definitely a warmonger, and said WAY more racist things than Trump ever did, so current criticism is valid.
shareI believe McCain was a true American patriot/hero who actually believed that this country was worth risking his life for and being tortured for, severely. In Donald Trump, president bone spurs he saw somebody who only cared about himself and nobody else and wasn’t willing to experience any discomfort for a larger cause. McCain served our country and everybody in it, regardless of wealth, social status, or race. Trump serves Trump.
shareYes indeed! McCain was a brave hero. Trump was a coward and should be ashamed of himself. Bone spurs! What a joke.
shareLol, it's like you didn't want to reply to my points, so you went in your own direction. How is anything you just said a reply to my comments? I assure you he isn't considered a war hero across the globe in countries that he CONSTANTLY voted that we go to war with.

Do better, Burk. Your post asserts a lot of sound & fury signifying bullshit - and raises questions.
You say that Republicans were desperate - why? Was it that pesky global financial collapse or the GOP war of choice?
They were desperate - so they chose a war hero? (or do you just like guys who weren't captured too?)
Dems were BEATING a drum about the 1st black president? When & where did THAT happen?
What things did McCain say that was more racist than saying that the exonerated Central Park 5 ought to be killed?
To what "current criticism" are you referring about with McCain? The man's been underground, literally, for nearly a year. Not sure that any criticism of his could be called "current.
And you say that the current criticism is VALID? WHAT criticism. Donald said that McCain "Killed Health Care" in this country.
Isn't that just a TAD hyperbolic? I don't recall Donald & the Gumps providing a replacement deal before McCains vote to stop the repeal, do YOU?
So DO tell, Burk. WHAT criticism of McCain is valid?
Donald promised his base during his campaign that he would repeal & replace Obamacare & give them something better, cheaper, more golden - the best health care there ever was in the history of DC, America, North America, Earth, The Universe.
But he never had a plan to replace it with.
The Republicans, for 6 years under Obama & for 2 years when they had the House, Senate & WH, never showed or hinted at their plan.
But Donald's promise "I will REPEAL OBAMACARE!" always got such great applause at GOP rallies attended by people who held signs which read "KEEP YOUR GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF MY MEDICARE!" so Donald & Mitch McConnell in the Senate decided - "let's just grab the headlines & get even MORE applause by repealing it & replacing it with - nothing - we'll claim VICTORY! - nevermind the mess it would leave & the bind that it would put families with sick kids or pre-existing conditions or those who had moved to states where their governors DID expand Medicare who would lose coverage.
Senator McCain, going through his 2nd or 3rd round of treatments for cancer KNEW what the real-life implications were of repealing Obamacare without any replacement at all - so he literally voted thumbs down on repealing it. McCain's thumbs down vote is now translated into TrumpToiletSpeak as McCain "killing health care" - which is bullshit, because all McCain did was maintain the coverage for people who would have lost it if the ACA was repealed.
What is the GOP health care plan, now? It STILL does not exist. They never. even. tried. to. fix. it.
BTW? There's a reason why 9 out of 10 Republicans LOVE the Affordable Care Act but HATE Obamacare (it's the same thing) . . . it's because they've been carefully taught & groomed & misinformed.
Yes, thanks to Hannity and FOX&FRIENDS, T-rumpanzees want their ACA but not Obamacare! Poor bastards.
shareThough I did not agree with McCain on the majority of his policies, I did like the guy and his pride in his country. He is the man that T-rump will never be, and this is what's eating away at T-rump on a daily basis. He's a respected American and a war hero - something T-rump will never attain.
Yes, the GOP was desperate and nixed his choice of Joe Lieberman (I) as a running mate in 2008. They chose Sarah Palin, and hedged their bets believing she would pick up the 'women voters' that Hillary would've gotten if she was the Dem candidate. They could never have been more wrong. Palin was a disaster.
Trump showed hate for him, and therefore his supporters started hating him.
Whatever/whoever Trump hates, his supporters hate.
Whatever/whoever Trump likes/loves, his supporters like/love.
Whatever / whoever FOX & FRIENDS hate, T-rump hates.
Whatever/whoever Trump hates, his supporters hate.
McCain’s nomination was always shady to republicans voters. None can say they voted for him to be the presidential candidate. He was likely given the nomination the same way Hillary was. It was stolen.
McCain was a demokkkrat at heart and hated anyone who held conservative values. He hated W as well. He blew the demokkkrat media whenever given the chance. And hated Trump because he was a threat to McCain’s globalist vision.
Ones “military service” does not exempt them from criticism as a politician. Especially when as a politician they chose the path of lying to their voters and corruption.
“The Keeting Five”, “McCain Feingold campaign finance reform”, are just a few examples of Senator McCain’s corruption. He’s lucky he didn’t spend the remainder of his life behind bars after the savings and loan scandal. Anyone not a politician would have.
He’s gone now, a disgrace to himself and his party. And the country benefits from true leadership that puts the American voter first, not those who’ve spent their lives in Washington DC, putting themselves first.
