The reason John McCain voted no was because that Senate bill was all about elimination of Obamacare (the "repeal" part) and had no provision to "replace" it with anything. It was a mean-spirited motion by a bunch of greedy old white men trying to take beneficial care away from poor Americans and leave then uninsured.

By voting no, McCain proved he actually possessed a conscience and was willing to put the best interests of the country above the get-more-money-for-us desires of the corporate Republican party lackeys who bend-over for their billionaire masters.
