T-rump is thankful for 'himself' on Thanksgiving

At yesterday's Thanksgiving press conference, a reporter asked him what he was thankful for this year. T-rump was quick to reply,

“For my great family and for having made a tremendous difference in this country. I made a tremendous difference in this country. This country is so much stronger now than it was when I took office and you wouldn’t believe it and when you see it, we’ve gotten so much stronger that people don’t even believe it.”

Can't make this stuff up. This is his alternate reality.

reply

I also cringe when I hear him speak no one remembers 3 million in popular vote any way I wonder how he is with his family

Jaw dropped. Face palmed.

I missed all that. I did hear a sound bite of a call to a service member in Afghanistan - where he asked "Stephanie" (no rank that I heard) if she was having fun out there.

reply

'Stephanie' must have loved that call. She should have asked him to send Ivanka over to have fun with the rest of them.

"We’ve gotten so much stronger that people don’t even believe it.”

Even on Thanksgiving, his goal is to keep us divided. He knows the majority is going to disagree, but that's why he says it. As long as the media is talking about his head being up his own ass and not his blatant corruption, it's a good day at the White House.

reply

671 days of pure embarrassment. And he has no shame.

reply

You don't think he believes his own bullshit?

reply

The problem is there are multiple pieces to the Trump puzzle that you can't just pin it on one detail.

Basic psychology reveals that the people who boast about their intelligence the most are the people who don't fully believe it, and that lack of belief in themselves drives the desire to make others believe it. That's 100% Trump.

I take that first part as a factual given. In addition to that, there's his distractive nature. Since he keeps doing it, I can't help but think there's something beyond the mental side of it, as if he's being prodded by certain people to continue acting that way. I admit, it's just my opinion and not a fact.

The third piece of the puzzle is his supporters who are mostly Dunning-Krugers and conspiracy nuts like himself who love being of the minority opinion because they believe they are on the cusp of knowing something the majority does not. These are the people easily duped by Alex Jones and televangelists, and Trump knows he can say anything (except god and abortion) to them and retain their support.

I'm sure there are plenty more pieces to it, but I don't think Trump's full belief in his accomplishments is one of them. But if we're talking partial belief, then sure.

reply

I asked because I genuinely don't know the answer either, it's a difficult riddle. I've known a few pathological liars and what I've observed is how they repeat their lies so often they just start believing their own bullshit, or at least incorporate their bullshit so effortlessly that it's hard to know what they believe.

But I think you're right, on some level I think they still know they're full of it. If Trump didn't think he was lying there'd be no reason for him to be so worried about Mueller probe.

"Even on Thanksgiving, his goal is to keep us divided."

What I'm not convinced of yet is whether this is a conscious and deliberate strategy or he does this because he just can't help himself. If he had a chance to unify the country to universal claim and praise you don't think he'd seize it? I think he would. His entire personality screams out as someone desperate for the approval from those he could never attain.

reply

"What I'm not convinced of yet is whether this is a conscious and overt strategy or he does this because he just can't help himself."

I think it's a combination of both. Ever since his "drugs and rapists" routine, he's proven that he revels in controversial statements. "Obama and Hillary are the founders of ISIS" is another where he throws crap at the wall and tests it out in a rally to see if it sticks.

I'm sure he believes it is what made him president, and as such, he is always in campaign rally mode. It's the one thing he knows for sure he is good at. While certain cabinet officials are off making deals with foreign powers, he's at home rallying. Veterans Day? Hmm, a bit somber to attack the opposition there. Thanksgiving? Easy. Rally mode engaged, "I'm thankful for myself." lmao

But for everyone else around him, they're either yes men or his donors. They either don't care about the distraction or understand it helps keep the crazy republican in office, and so they support the continuation much like the Trumpsters on this board.

I know it's been mentioned before (months ago) but I honestly still believe he has some sort of dementia going on in his brain. That itself causes forgetfulness, and living in a different reality.

reply

What a time to be alive

This is like that analogy of the frog being put into warm water and slowly heating it up without the frog noticing. But you take a frog and drop it into steaming water, its damn well going to notice.
If two years ago, we were suddenly dropped into this world, I think the culture shock would be too much. We're at each other's throats, we've dropped from our position as a world leader, Kim has successfully subjugated Trump, along with Putin, we've alienated our allies, broke our deal with Iran and are currently covering for a murdering head of state in Saudi Arabia.

The world looks at us as a joke right now, and for good reason. We've got someone at the helm that has more in common with tyrants and dictators than anyone else....this is nuts!

reply

He thinks the world believes his “ alternate reality” based on his 6,000 lies. We don’t.

I wonder how many of us have friends and family who do though, you know? Fox News is all that many people watch, and they've bought in hook, line and sinker. I'm not sure that even Trump admitting on camera that he's played America for fools would convince people that its true.
Conversations like this are cathartic; its nice to hear from the sane people, to know that there's still a lot of grounded folks out there who are just as amazed as you are by all this craziness. I wonder if people will ever be pulled out of their bubble about Trump...and if so, how.

Shoot my own mother was surprised to hear that Trump isn't the most truthful guy. Just carefully mentioned that he doesn't always tell the truth and, "WHA??" She'd no idea...had never heard such a thing lol
Fox News 24/7, has no idea what net neutrality means, who Scott Pruitt is...but she can tell you the latest scoop on a Hillary scandal, and how mean, just plain mean the liberals are to our sitting president. They have no respect!

This is nucking futs lol
When its all said and done, I think we should besiege Fox News until they fire their current roster and hire a team of de-programmers to undo their mess lol

reply

It's all me,me,me.

T-rump also thanked himself today for the oil prices falling. This guy's an idiot.

reply

He actually said this????? This man is a total basket case.

reply

Yes, he actually said this. With a straight face and no embarrassment. The guy can't ever feel shame or embarrassment.
