Pompeo hand delivered plan to Saudi King and Crown Prince outlining how to coverup Kashoggi murder

The plan involved pinning the murder on an innocent member of the ruling family and was delivered in an October 14th meeting Pompeo had with the Crown Prince.

There's a term for that in our legal system. It's called "accessory to murder".

And Saudi plans to execute 5 members of the hit squad and another member already dead in a mysterious Riyadh car accident, it looks like Saudis are taking full measures to tie up loose ends with a fully complicit Trump administration.

I think I've counted at least 5 different versions of the murder of Khashoggi.

And now the Trump Administration is complicit in creating another one?

Not sure how any of these authoritarian dictatorships get around that pesky "thou shall not bear false witness" thing.

Someone in the US State Department leaked. The NSA & CIA have the proverbial receipts.

The problem with the Trumpsters is that they're not only stupid, they're incompetent & they also can't keep their mouths shut.

Trump & his lackeys attack the press for publishing leaks - but which came first? The leak or the story?

Excellent points and insight as always FishGottoSwim. You should hang out here more often. :)

Excellent post!

I should say unbelievable, but is this really unbelievable?

This is T-rump's idea of draining the swamp?

It's no wonder Pompeo appeared so chummy with the Crown Prince during the press conference just prior to that meeting. It was all laughs and smiles talking about how important the US-Saudi alliance was.

Ostensibly the meeting was supposed to be about Pompeo delivering stern words behind the scenes. But apparently the front to the press wasn't an act. No wonder why the prince has acted so emboldened and defiant given the US is now a fully engaged co-conspirator in the coverup.

He knows Trump can't act against him because he got a hand delivered gift from the Secretary of State he could present to the press as proof. But then again, he's probably got all sorts of records of Trump and Kushner's personal financial dealings with the Kingdom which made him confident he had him in his pocket already anyway.

Tonight should be a fun night of cable news / MSNBC. I wonder how Hannity and Carlson will spin this over on FOX - plus the story of Ivanka's emails?

Probably by ignoring each big story - they will focus on 'the caravan' !

reply

And I was right - they focused on 'the caravan' all night, and ignored the other headlines, which were being updated by the minute on MSNBC !

reply

Yeah but that was sooo predictable. Their audience are suckers for that story.

reply

" The caravan's coming! The caravan's coming! Forget about T-rump's illegal maneuvers, Ivanka's private email servers and T-rump's siding with Saudi Arabia! It's a caravan I tell ya! "

reply

Not surprising, but disgusting, and disappointing. This president exemplifies the worst of the Bush and Obama administrations combined. If only we could deport him to Saudi Arabia where he can better serve his overlords.

reply

First he sided with Russia over our own intelligence agencies (July), now he sides with Saudi Arabia?

And Republicans don't have a problem with this?

What I suspect we'll learn either from House investigation subpoenas or the discovery process from the emoluments clause case making its way through the courts, is that through this whole diplomatic crises MBS has been dumping money into Trump business interests. Saudis are experts at playing the bribery game, and we already know they've been actively doing this with Trump. It was reported last summer Saudis were responsible for 13% of Q1 revenue of Trump International Hotel in NYC spent during a 5 day visit by Saudi officials in March.

And lets face it, there's no way Trump acts the way he's acting right now towards the Saudis without having a personal stake in the game. The pattern is just too familiar with how we've seen him act over Russia. Once again he's siding with the word of a foreign autocrat over his own intel agencies; flatly lying about their conclusions "we'll never know" and "it is what it is".

What's interesting is how CIA anticipated he would do this and leaked its confidential report MBS was directly responsible to preempt him the day before Trump's announcement. Whenever a highly politically sensitive classified report is leaked in advanced to the press, especially when it will contradict and undermine a president's words, the agent leaking it is seriously sticking their neck out and risking their career. Someone high up in IC has to be seriously pissed.

And I think we've got BINGO! Couldn't agree with you more.

Last night Donald Trump tweeted:

"So-called comedian Michelle Wolf bombed so badly last year at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that this year, for the first time in decades, they will have an author instead of a comedian. Good first step in comeback of a dying evening and tradition! Maybe I will go?"

To which Michelle Wolf tweeted in response:

"I bet you'd be on my side if I had killed a journalist. #BeBest"

Now whether you like Michelle Wolf or not, that is one sick burn.

That's awesome!

Well, Fat Hitler DID say "My adminstration will be the most transparent ever". He's certainly being transparent in showing how openly he supports corruption in the name of money.

reply

It's true. About the only thing he hasn't been transparent about are his receipts. But I have no doubt they'll be found. Following the money on such transparent corruption will be easy.

reply

Awesome! :D

And our "wonderful" president is basically saying: "Yeah...well...I'm excusing this murder plot because of financial gain!" and his supporters are 110% standing behind him on this.

I actually saw a Trumper on one of the news site comments sections say: "Who cares? He wasn't an American. It's not our problem. Who cares if another country murdered one of their own?".

And to think--these same Trumpers ran around shouting "Killary" all the time.

And Sean Hannity was right there by his side on this one last night in his opening monologue - saying the President "did the right thing".
