Where are those millions of six-figure jobs T-rump promised us?

Rememeber throughout 2016, T-rump promised Americans he was going to "Make America Great Again" because he was the job creator? He promised he would create millions of high paying six-figure jobs, something that no other candidate was qualified to do - as no one else was a 'job creator'.

Where are they? We're closing the second year of his presidency in two months, and so far there's no millions of 'six figure jobs' available to any of us. He boasts about the low unemployment rate, but fails to tell us those jobs he created are minimum-wage jobs, or jobs teetering on the poverty line - far removed from those six-figure jobs he promised everyone.

Most everyone I know is still living 'paycheck to paycheck', and for the past two years, their employer (big and small) are doling out the '2% cost of living increase' in their pay raises, despite saving millions of dollars in taxes which were to trickle down to us. We're all waiting for the six figure jobs to open up for us that he promised. (The jobs those 'illegals in the caravans' are going to steal from us!)

Seems like the only jobs popping up left and right are low wage sweat shop factory jobs, fast food, etc. Sure, those no-brain jobs might be right up the alley of any Trumper but those of us with brains and careers can't live off that.

You know what happened to my well-paying job on Donald Trump's first year in office? The company took a nosedive and ended up laying off half of its workforce, myself included. I'm back on track now but his "big, beautiful job market" sure was nowhere to be found when myself and others found ourselves scattered to the four winds, trying to find real work again.

During my time of unemployment I can say this: the ONLY places that were hiring for the longest time were the jobs I mentioned: low wage factory and food service jobs. That's the sum of Donald's "big, beautiful job market". Those of us who depend on career jobs for a living still have to struggle to get new positions. I did eventually but let me tell you--the career position I'm in is NOT in large supply out there and Donald's job market seems to only be catering to bottom-of-the-barrel jobs.

Get with it, politicians are liars !

Remember when the GOP criticized Obama’s job growth for creating low paying jobs?

reply

Yeah, and now they're praising it.

Same with the economy--Trumpers are quick to give the fat hog credit for what was still Obama's economy in fat hog's first year as president.

reply

Can it be none of them see how hypocritical this is? None of them has the spine to call out T-rump on this promise he never kept?

reply

Nope. It's all about party bias, I guess.

All I know is this: Anyone saying "The job market is BOOMING under Trump!" is either a low wage earner and/or simply doesn't know what they are talking about.

Yes, the jobs ARE booming if you're happy with $8-10 per hour dead-end jobs that require no education or experience. Those are popping up like crazy. However, if you need to earn real money for a living then the pickings are slimmer than ever. Degree holders forced to work at McDonalds while waiting MONTHS for a real job that aligns with their skills is not a "booming" market as far as I see it.

reply

Exactly. I can’t believe how his supporters fall for this crap, believing the job market is at its best when it’s flooded with low paying jobs. He promised high paying 6 figure jobs!

reply

Exactly. This is one subject that's rather touchy with me because I'm in a good middle age wage earner career bracket and pickin's are SLIM out there for anyone with experience. In fact--many companies for jobs like this are either contracting out for peanuts or doing mostly in-house hiring/lateral changes to save money.

I'm right in the heart of one of those job sectors that Fat Donald promised to rake in the jobs/money for and can say first hand: he most certainly has NOT. Quite the opposite, in fact--it's DRY out there for people in my field and Trump didn't deliver on his promises.

Any idiot out there raving about "booming economy" and "roaring jobs" could only be low wage earners, rich or lucky SOB's who are sitting arrogant in their positions.

The truth of the matter is: anyone who isn't rich could be out in an alley in an instant in ANY company they're working for and that is a FACT.

Trump has done NOTHING to improve that. People defending his job stance don't know what they're talking about. They just hear/read "Good job market" and parrot that online as a way of "bragging" about their guy. Nothing more.

Same as myself.

In my state, toy manufacturer Hasbro announced a major layoff in late October in management and design jobs (not exactly minimum wage earning jobs). A few months before, Mattel announced 2,200 jobs will be cut - again a big chunk in management and design. Both blame the closure of Toys R Us earlier this year - in the T-rump economy.

Will all these employees be taking the minimum wage jobs at the ever expanding chains known as "Dollar Tree", "Family Dollar" and "Dollar General" ? That's where the job growth is these days.

reply

Exactly. Only people who work these positions know first hand what it's like when the gauntlet comes down. It's HARD. It took me EIGHT months to get back on track in my field after the layoff and I'm one of the LUCKY ones. Some take far longer, depending on conditions. Where is Trump's help for US?

reply

I don't think he remembers what he said throughout his 2016 election campaign or whatever you call it.

reply

America remembers, and we hold him to it.

reply

I dont think he remembers whatever bullshit he made up yesterday
