T-rump doubts Pence's loyalty; may replace him with Nikki Haley
T-rump's paranoia has shifted into over-drive this week, as he's been openly questioning the "loyalty" of his running mate Mike Pence, and talking candidly about replacing him with Nikki Haley for 2020.
Since the results from the November mid-terms nearly two weeks ago, where Dems took over the House and are doing better than expected in the Senate, T-rump's hysteria and paranoia has taken a toll on him. He has reportedly now turned his attention on Mike Pence, and questioning his future as Vice President.
According to sources inside the White House, it began a few days after the mid-terms, when T-rump was asked if he was going to keep Pence as his running mate in 2020, during a press conference, catching him 'off guard'. Rather than answer affirmatively, T-rump turned to Pence and asked, "“Mike, will you be my running mate?”
Pence quietly nodded a 'yes'.
T-rump responded, “Will you? Thank you. O.K.... good. That was unexpected, but I feel very fine.”
Sources say since then, T-rump has been questioning aides about Pence's loyalty, as he's not fully convinced with Pence's silent answer. He's pretty direct in his questioning, with a simple: "Is Mike Pence loyal ?"
Despite assurances from his aides and advisers that Pence is, T-rump continues telling everyone in his inner circle that he's considering replacing Pence before the 2020 election. When asked about 'who' he will replace Pence with, T-rump reacts by asking their thoughts on "Nikki Haley", the outgoing Ambassador to the UN.
Sources have said this type of questioning of Pence "usually indicates he has grown irritated with someone", just like his questions of loyalty about Comey, Sessions, Tillerson, and countless others in his administration who have since been dropped.
According to Hogan Gidley, the White House deputy press secretary, there is no truth to these leaks coming out in the past few days. “The president absolutely supports the vice president,” Gidley said, “and thinks he’s doing an incredible job helping to carry out the mission and policies of this administration.”
