Trump-ally congressmen introduce impeachment resolution against Deputy AG Rosenstein

House Freedom Caucus leaders Reps. Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan on Wednesday escalated their fight with the Justice Department, introducing a resolution to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

The resolution is not a sign that the House is about to vote to impeach Rosenstein, as House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy -- who have been pushing for documents from the Justice Department -- did not sign on. The House is also leaving for a monthlong recess after Thursday.

The resolution to impeach Rosenstein, which Meadows and his conservative allies have been threatening for weeks, is the strongest step that conservative allies of President Donald Trump have taken in their feud with Rosenstein and the Justice Department.

In a statement, Meadows said Rosenstein should be impeached because of the Justice Department's stonewalling of congressional subpoenas and hiding information from Congress, and for signing one of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant renewals for Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Glorious. Simply glorious.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions defended Rod Rosenstein on Thursday, saying he has "the highest confidence" in him one day after House conservatives introduced a resolution to impeach the deputy attorney general overseeing the special counsel Russia investigation.

"My deputy Rod Rosenstein is highly capable. I have the highest confidence in him," Sessions said during a news conference in Boston when asked about the impeachment effort against Rosenstein.

Like your supreme leader?

Why hasn’t Jordan stepped down yet amongst all the stories which have come forward about his involvement with sexual misconduct in the past at the college where he coached? Has he no dignity to step away and do what’s right? Instead he tries to distract people with this nonsense?

reply

Because in the world of the Trumpholes, sexual harassment/misconduct only exists when it's perpetrated by liberals or democrats.

This is more symbolic than anything...symbolic in that it shows how steadfast the dwindling Trumpholes are in Congress who continue the treasonous practice of deflection and distraction towards Mueller's investigation. Meadows and Jordan are Freedom Caucusuckers who goosestep behind another Trumpist pustule, Devin Numbnets, in their futile attempts to obstruct justice.

I'm hoping that during the August recess Mueller fires off some more indictments that will continue to show what a bunch of Trump toadies these asscunts are.
