Restaurant manager fired after asking customer to remove MAGA hat ...

... in left-coast Canada! Would be nice if all Libtarded SJWs were fired.

http://thehill.com/homenews/news/394988-restaurant-manager-fired-for-refusing-service-to-man-in-maga-hat

Darin Hodge, who worked as a floor manager at a popular Vancouver, British Columbia, tourist restaurant, refused service to a man wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat on Tuesday, Global News reports.

According to reports, Hodge asked the man to remove the hat and said he wouldn't be served unless it was removed. The unnamed Trump supporter refused to remove the hat, and Hodge refused to serve him.

The restaurant owner, The Sequoia Company, said Hodge was later fired for not following the company's "philosophy of tolerance."
___

“I stand by my decision to ask the patron to remove his hat. The MAGA hat has come to symbolize racism, bigotry, islamaphobia [sic], misogyny, white supremacy, homophobia. As a person with a strong moral backbone, I had to take a stand against this guest’s choice of headwear while in my former place of work,” Hodge said.

reply

This is so weird to me. I go to McDonald's all the time and there's a sign directly behind the cashier that says, "We reserve the right to refuse service to ANYONE." You could look at the cashier ugly and get refused. It doesn't make it right, but it's their prerogative.

reply

It is potentially a civil rights issue since political affiliation is highly correlated with race. If someone refused service to Obama supporters, they would be excluding over 90% of black customers. You think the NAACP wouldn't have a problem with that?

reply

The left is OK with hate as long as its against the right. Just look at the sexist and misogynistic attacks they launched against Gov. Sarah Palin (like pictures of her baby next to a clothes hangar with a message "better luck next time") and then shortly after had the nerve to suggest there was a "war on women". Yeah there's a "war on conservative women" which is being launched by the left.

reply

Have you ever heard of Gabby Giffords?

reply

Yes she was tragically shot and then the left tried to politicize it and blame it on Sarah Palin when "targeting" districts was something that had been done for quite a while and was even done by Democrats. They hadn't even finished clearing out the bodies before the left started politicizing it which was disgusting behavior on their part.

reply

The one in Palins crosshairs? Yes we remember Gabby Gifford, and the extreme measures Palin went through to scrub her website, and later play victim.

Similar to Milo Yiannopoulos this week. He’s playing victim because he ordered vigilantes to gun down journalists.

All they know is hate and violence.

reply

Milo was a disgusting human being before this. When I first heard him on the radio, I thought he was a satanist. Whatever blackness is in his soul, it certainly projects itself in his radio show. It would be justice if he goes to jail.

reply

I have yet to hear one Republican speak against him since last weeks tragedy. Not one. Not anyone on Fox. Not Judge Jeanine, who tore apart Maxine Waters.

reply

He "ordered vigilantes to gun down journalists"?

Hahahaha! Exaggerate much?

So he's giving orders now? He's in charge of an alt-right assassination squad?

He told some journalists in a private conversation that he hopes vigilantes start targeting journalists. These journalists then printed the remarks. Milo might be a troll and a demagogue but don't make out he's issuing 'orders' to mythical vigilantes.

reply

Umm... If he told journalists that he hoped they were gunned down, then that's a death threat.

reply

So Umm... what you're saying is that he *didn't* order vigilantes to gun down journalists? So you agree with me? Good. Glad we cleared that up.

reply

Yeah, so back to what I was saying. I go to McDonald's all the time. Right now on the McDonald's app you can get a sandwich for $1. :-)

reply

[deleted]

Millions of Libtards "hope" Trump is assassinated. I hope they are arrested for death threats!

reply

Jarrod Ramos, 38, took it as an order. Ask his five victims - make that: ask their survivors.

reply

But he didn't though, did he? The comments Milo made were private and were only made public by the journalists he messaged *after* the shootings. So are you suggesting that the journalists themselves passed on the "order" to gun down journalists? Or is it that the killer had a time machine?

I find it fascinating when people feel the need to distort the truth to make their point... it's like on some level their brain knows the reality does quite match with their point of view so it needs to be distorted to conform. Of course what should happen is that our views change dependent on the facts but so often it's the other way around.

If you think Milo's comments were stupid then so say but don't distort the truth because it fits with whatever ideology you're selling. That doesn't do anybody any favours, least of all the victims and their families.

reply

"But he didn't though, did he? The comments Milo made were private and were only made public by the journalists he messaged *after* the shootings."

No, he did.

Two seperate journalists had emailed him asking for a public comment on his thoughts about the treatment of Sarah Sanders in the restaurant, as well as Kristjen Nielsen, knowing he was in similar situations (though he was the provocateur). They wanted a public response from him.

He gave what he called 'his standard response to all mainstream reporters' asking him for public comments - they released it - five journalists are dead. NOW he wants to say that it was private email, and at one point he referred to it as a joke email.

Blood on his hands. I hope he never forgets it.

reply

Even if that is true who printed the comments? The journalists in question. Do they have 'blood on their hands' too? Milo has a million ways he can say dumb shit publicly - there is just no way you can spin text messages to journalists to be 'issuing orders to vigilantes'.

I know it.

You know it.

So just quit it.

I'm not even defending the guy - sending messages like that is dumb no matter what the context but what you're doing is taking a 6 on the 'dumb things to do' meter and cranking it up to a 9 You're making it sound like he sat down and planned the attack. There is nothing to suggest the killer even ever heard of Milo and it's clear the shootings were due to a long standing grudge the killer had with that specific paper.

Using mass shootings to score political points is pathetic.

And this will be the last you hear from me because I hate the fact that a movie chat page has fucking Trump spam all over it and now I'm perpetuating it. So. C'est la vie.

reply

Who cares who printed it?

Milo Y made a public comment - and now he has blood on his hands. Period.

The GOP is ignoring this - they rather bash Maxine Waters for encouraging non-violent demonstrations.

reply

They didn't print it, you make up shit!

reply

I go to McDonald's all the time and there's a sign directly behind the cashier that says, "We reserve the right to refuse service to ANYONE."

First off, that would be the manager or owner's call, not a waiter.

Secondly, this may be different since it's in Canada.

reply

First, and only, you just exonerated him. He was a manager. But anyway, the McDonald's app and 7Eleven app are the best ones out there!

reply

Floor manager is not a restaurant manager. Anyway, it was the owners choice to fire him. Managers do get fired, it happens for all kinds of reasons.

reply

Seriously, you can get a Big Mac for $1.

reply

Cheaper.

99¢ to be exact.

reply

Where? They are 4 bucks in Michigan.

reply

Michigan is fucked in so many ways.

Wait for the coupon specials or go to the ghettos. They tend to be cheaper then in other areas.

reply

Yea but they should stick that sign and shove it.

You cant actually refuse and if you refuse me your liable to get shot. The refusal of service should only be allowed if your a danger to the rest of us. But for having a different view or being different is unmeritable and your bound to get encroached on it.

reply

You definitely seem like a danger to the rest of us. I hope the FBI and/or Secret Service is aware.

reply

Both countries are aware and you better not step out of bounds.

reply

Then you're lucky that your father is a lawyer. Sorry if I didn't recognize your conservative alter ego. Scary stuff!

reply

No your mother is my lawyer. I pay with her with sexual favors.

reply

Typical conservative response...

reply

lol. jk. You asked for it.

I dont know what i am actually. probably a heavy sort of liberal. The Bernie Sanders type.

reply

Why is this surprising to you? He's Canadian. Trump recently antagonized Canada on the global stage. Of course many Canadians are going to feel hostility towards a guy who behaves like a fascist and just started a senseless trade war with them at the G7 they hosted.

It wasn't his restaurant so it wasn't his call to make, but he was fully prepared to pay the price.

reply

Whatever the manager's beef may be with the Trump Administration, the customer had nothing to do with it. It sounds like the customer was asked to leave based on his personal opinions which is discrimination and persecution.

reply

I wouldn't have done it and it wasn't his decision to make since it wasn't his restaurant.

But a person's political ideology isn't a protected class so if it were his restaurant it would have been entirely his prerogative to refuse service based on a person's politics.

reply

I'm not saying refusing to serve him is illegal, I'm saying it's bigoted since he's punishing someone for how they think.

reply

I don't disagree. It's unfortunate. I'd hate to see widespread practice of refusing people service based on their politics.

reply

I think individuals wearing Drumpf hats should be stopped at the border like we do to the Westboro Baptist psychos

reply

Interesting to hear you admit you're comfortable with discriminating against someone based only on their choice of clothing. I'll assume that means you support the far right when they want to restrict the rights of transgender cross dressers, based solely on their choice of clothing. It's refreshing to actually hear a bigot admit they are one, good for you in that regard at least.

reply

I'm comfortable keeping racists out of my country.

"Make America Great Again" what is the referring to? The 50's? The 60's? Before that? When it was great for white men only, even white women didn't have all that many rights let alone the minority groups.

So ya, keep the butthurt out of Canada please and thank you👋

reply

So what they wear allows you to determine if they are racist? So your prejudice instead of a bigot? Glad you clarified.

reply

I prefer to think of it as profiling like your super troopers do ;)

In my opinion the Maga hat is like the Firebird Trans am. Not all Trans ams are Firebirds but all Firebirds are Trans ams. Not all racists wear Maga hats, but all Maga hat wearers are....

reply

Yup, that's called stereotyping, by the definition. If your cool with it, rock on, but don't pretend that's not what it is. Thankfully in America, we allow people with prejudice to express themselves too, just like in this instance.

reply

Yep, just like your supreme leader and his followers. Mexicans are rapists after all, according to the pussy grabber in chief

reply

So what your admitting is that you are no better than Trump, the person you are so disgusted by?

reply

Not at all. Just fighting fire with fire cause hugs and kindness are wasted on that demographic

reply

Please explain how doing something you hate in others isn't hypocrisy?

reply

Please explain to me what that has to do with the topic at hand. You trumpets just like to twist other people's words to fit your narrative and just go wildly off topic.

What you don't like a taste of your own medicine?

reply

Oh, I'm not someone who gives Trump a pass on everything, hate to burst your bubble, but I like hypocrisy even less. You seem to be fine with it, which fits perfectly with your liberal agenda. Consider this my last reply, you've shown your true colors, and no point debating with someone who ignorantly and intentionally defies logic and embraces hypocrisy. Enjoy being you.

reply

A drumpf supporter saying I'm posting ignorantly, that's rich!

reply

What's even richer is that he claims to "like hypocrisy even less" seeing how Trump is the consummate hypocrite.

It's comedy gold watching how transparently full of it he is while remaining so unaware of how full of it he is. 🤯

reply

Lol
With these drumpf supporters throwing common sense to the wind it's hard to tell the trolls
from those being genuinely ingenuous

reply

"Oh, I'm not someone who gives Trump a pass on everything, hate to burst your bubble, but I like hypocrisy even less"

Golly. So how do you do you perform such impressive feats of mental gymnastics to support the man who has redefined the word "hypocrisy" in taking home two Forbes Mulvaney Awards For Ultimate Hypocrisy And Nonsense?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/stancollender/2017/12/19/trumps-amtrak-tweet-earns-him-his-second-mulvaney-award/#2a9d33ed1449

Your support indicates you're "just fine with it" so long as it supports your agenda hypocrite. You've shown your true colors as someone who intentionally defies logic and embraces hypocrisy while hilariously scolding others over your own faults. Enjoy being you.

reply

Yawn... You bore me and I get tired of making you look silly with your lopsided logic that any middle schooler can see through. Expect this as my stock reply for every time you reply to me. I can't stand feigned ignorance, and it's even worse when it's real.

reply

Yea now he's out of a job and cant come to america cause he'd whip his ass. Great price.

Canadians are nothing without american and they should be thanking us we dont just take over.

reply

booooring.

reply

Should’ve spat in his food instead.

reply

Ya I would have wiped the inside of the staff toilet with toilet paper and the smeared it all over his plate. If there was any salad I would have wiped the inside of the salad spinner with it 😂

reply

Doubt it’d have any effect. These people have shown a high tolerance for s*-t. In fact, they seem to prefer it.

reply

Lolol good point, would probably taste like good ole home cookin'! 😂🤣

reply

HAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

He would've gotten tipped instead, a raise, and his own hat. Plus a guaranteed employee of the month.

reply

Is it any surprise? These leftwing/demokkkrat lemmings are seething with hatred. Anytime they can take it out on anyone they’re going to.

The result of a pointless life where they’ve been taught to believe everything they’re spoonfed. Totally unable to think for themselves. Just brainless robots. Lemmings.

None can provide a single idea or solution to tackle the problems the country and world face. From their slavemasters in office and media all the way to the losers at MC. Just obsessive anger and hate.

And where will it lead? To another loss in November. Never in history has there been a major political party so void of ideas and solutions.

reply

I agree. Good Owner.

Regardless of any one's opinion the man has a right to his view's. If not all hell will bring loose. He should come to America so we commend him.

Canada's own prime minister is not welcomed here though.

reply

Men aren't supposed to wear hats indoors.

reply

"Strong moral backbone" he says as he calls someone he knows nothing about a racist, homophobe blablabla

Lefties are hilarious
