lulz. I'm talking about the traditional manufacturing sector genius; automotive, steel, and industrial machinery; all things that one typically thinks of with the mention of "manufacturing" and none of which has any real manufacturing base left standing here. The 25% trump tax on steel and aluminum will significantly effect the price of many consumer goods produced in these industries that abandoned the factories in the stickvilles where you live for the even cheaper unskilled labor markets overseas. I have no doubt you're intimately familiar seeing how those companies left your region destitute.
Yes the US still has a vibrant ADVANCED manufacturing high tech sector HQ'd here in Silicon Valley and the west coast where I work that revolves around fab labs, pharmaceuticals and the like. But its not like this industry won't be effected by tariffs either when many components are still assembled and imported from Chinese factories owned by US companies. But this industry requiring skilled labor and advanced degrees really has nothing in common with your 96k aluminum mill manufacturing job in Kentucky. So when the time comes that Reynolds decides to lay you off and you no longer have a union to protect you, you can thank Trump for your lot in life and conservative justices on the Supreme Court for making your union unviable.
