'Between October 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018, at least 2,700 children have been split from their parents. 1,995 of them were separated over the last six weeks of that window — April 18 to May 31 — indicating that at present, an average of 45 children are being taken from their parents each day.'

I think what Trump means is democrats are keeping his immigration security from passing so he's forced to take more drastic measures to deter illegal immigration so he blames democrats for not approving the wall or whatever it is the dems are protecting for illegals.

Didn't Trump pass a wall spending bill? Or was that only for fixing up the existing fences and not actually building with those new walls? Maybe it was sanctuary cities or not reporting to ICE. Splitting California into 3 states cannot come any sooner.

I love the fact that reporters were telling him he was essentially lying - there is no law he was referring to - and he looked the other way. Why face the truth when you can turn your head?

And if such law by Dems did exist, Congress is controlled by Rethuglikkkans and T-rump has executive power to overturn this.

But he loves being evil.

Precisely.

& we'll see who taps out first, the illegals-OR-the President.

reply

Except Democrats aren't keeping anything from passing Culburn because Republicans control congress.

Facts matter.

reply

There you go again with CNN talking points & marching orders.

reply

I read that on Fox Culburn.

reply

That's funny because I just saw it on CNN.

reply

You watch CNN Culburn?

Wow. Color me shocked.

reply

Of course. It's fun rubbing their nose in it, watching 'em squirm in their seats, seething at loss.

It never grows old.

reply

But Trump calls it "fake news" Culburn.

He'd be upset to learn that you're contributing to their viewership numbers.

reply

Oh, please. He watches it just like me & for the exact same reason:::vengeance.

The difference? He also watches FOX. I wouldn't be caught dead doin' that.

reply

Hahaha!

Ok ... good on you. :)

reply

Fox posts the marching orders, and the lemmings reply
Happens over and over again, then some lemming jumps up to say, oh, the libtards are so hateful !!
Post hateful things, then blame the other side for being hateful.
So tired of this shit.

reply

Fox posts the marching orders, and the lemmings reply

Get your own shit, snepts. That's my shit. Act like somebody.

reply

Even when one side 'controls', does it mean they don't need 60 votes for something to pass or they already have the majority vote being 60 itself? If that's the case, then why can't republicans pass the wall bill and such? They control by only by a couple more votes not the needed 60 for something to pass, no?

reply

Only if members among the minority are trying to mount a filibuster, the majority can overcome a filibuster with a 60 vote majority.

Without the threat of filibuster the Republicans can pass whatever they want with a 51 member Senate majority like they did with tax cuts. Actually they really only need 50 votes to pass legislation since the Vice President casts the vote to break a tie and of course Pence would vote with the GOP.

They couldn't get it done when they tried to get Obamacare repealed after Susan Collins and McCain refused to go along, that meant they couldn't get the 50 vote minimum they needed.

This is really a non-issue with regards to immigration reform since Dems want to get something done. It's Trump and hardcore right wing congressional Republicans preventing anything from happening. Trump just likes to falsely blame Dems since it's easier than accepting responsibility for taking kids away from their parents.

reply

Oh, and Republicans can't pass a 'wall' bill because enough of them don't want to have anything to do with funding a wasteful wall.

reply

So it's immoral for authorities to separate families if the parents commit crimes??? So why do we have people in jail then?

reply

Brilliant, Ult!!!

reply

So I guess if I commit a crime worthy of a 20 year sentence I can't be sent to jail because it's immoral to separate me from my family. Thanks for the loophole libtards.

reply

back in the days in germany, being a "jew" was a crime. your point being?

reply

[deleted]

First explain to me what your point is?

reply

lol. what was my statement again? i mean except destroying yours. oh, i see... none.

reply

Why didn't anyone bring this up during 8 years of Obama?

Since you didn't STFU.

Criminals are criminals....come in legally or GTFO of my country

reply

You're apparently not familiar with this issue.

Asylum seekers are coming in legally. Yet they are being separated from their kids.

reply

back in the days in germany, being a "jew" was a crime. your point being?

reply

Irrelevant to the discussion dumbass.

reply

A Hispanic seeking asylum is considered a crime by bigots like Trump and those who would support his racists policies. Same issue and very relevant.

So much for "family values" and "defending children" that the Republicans like to pretend they support.

The google definition is correct.

Everything below that line is a diatribe by a bigoted ideologue.

*An illegal immigrant is not an asylum seeker.
*A mother and her children seeking asylum are not "drug dealers and gang members".
*Melania still can't speak French. Why do you care so much?
*blah, blah, blah more deflection instead of addressing "the 1951 Refugee Convention" which the U.S. is breaking.

How's that high-paying factory job that Trump promised you? You're a miserable misanthrope so I'm going to assume you didn't get it yet. keep waiting and in the mean time blame your sad life on asylum seeking babies.

"enforce the rule of law"

you mean like back in the days in germany, when being a jew was a crime? poor hitler, he just wanted to enforce the law.

reply

yeah, a point is totally irrelevant to opening one's mouth. xD

reply

Trump obviously knows his policy is wrong or he wouldn't be trying to shift blame to others. His supporters need to use their common sense and understand what they support is immoral.

BTW, wasn't it Trump who refused to sign a compromise immigration bill a few months ago?

reply

Democrats don't care at all about any children who are separated from their families, all they care about is undermining the President who kicked their asses because they are so butthurt about the election. The Demokkkrats are using illegal immigrants as political props and it is sick and disgusting.

reply

More deflection. Once again a poster refuses to reply to the question at hand. If Trump considers what he is doing to be right, then why is he shifting blame?

Answer. Because he knows it's immoral and evil. Why don't you?

Why would you support a policy that is immoral and evil? Do you have so much hate for babies because they are Hispanic? What is wrong with you and why are you this way?

Families seeking asylum is perfectly legal. Separating families for months, if not years while the legal process takes place is evil.

You are on the wrong side of history.

Deport the little runts.

reply

When you have hate filled libtards in congress who get their panties in a twist when their President calls MS13 "animals" it's unfortunately going to be very hard to enforce the rule of law.
