Looks like every prototype is opaque. Even Trump said himself that you need to be able to see through the wall so you can know what's happening on the back.
Every opaque wall is a failure, even with those rounded tops. All one needs is to put up an extension ladder leaning on the south side, climb up and peek over with binoculars until you know the area is safe (no one can see you doing this with an opaque wall and the height gives you an incredible vantage point), and then climb down the north side with a rope tied to the top rung of the ladder. No, the rope will not pull the ladder over the top. The physics makes that impossible.
So, if all the prototypes were opaque the way it appears in that video, back to the drawing board. Time for more prototypes.
Meanwhile, all this expense is being done for symbolic reasons. Most illegals came here legally. As of 2014, 66% of illegal immigrants simply overstayed their temporary visas.
Let's also not forget that the immigration focus is basically just racist pandering and it doesn't address any actual growing problem:
The CMS has previously reported on the dramatic decline in the U.S. undocumented population between 2008 and 2014.
“Despite the claims of an ever-rising, out-of-control U.S. undocumented population,” said Donald Kerwin, CMS’s executive directors said in the 2016 report, “the number of undocumented has fallen each year since 2008.”
Yes, that has been ever since the housing (and debt bubble) recession hit. It was big news at the time, too.
Let's also not forget that the increase in ICE activity is leaving crops rotting in the fields because apparently legal citizens aren't so hard up for jobs after all, and don't want to work hard labor.
But hey, why waste a good campaign slogan? BUILD THE WALL! Right? Let's spend billions on that.
