According to the latest Rasmussen poll released yesterday, President Trump's approval rating is now at 50% nationally. On the same day of his first term President Obama's approval rating was at 45%.

Wow - they're the only ones polling at such a 'high' rate when all the other pollsters show him at 34-36%, which sounds more credible. Not sure who they're polling, but if it's just those with 'landlines', they're missing the majority of Americans.

Personally, I have never voted democrat in 30 years and I have not bothered to have a house phone in almost 10 years.
It doesn't count those with cell phones. So if they can't reach you by landline, or 'online', you're not being polled.
Plus they claim they poll 'likely voters' (however they define 'likely', as that's very arbitrary). Other pollsters poll those adults aged 18 or over. Big difference.
Agreed, but since only about half of Americans vote, there is something to be said about polling likely voters instead of just everyone over 18 (half of which will not vote). And only 37% voted in the 2010 midterms! So a blanket phone calling technique would only get 1 voter out of three polled.
shareI personally wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the 18+ year olds, or compare this to any other mid-terms (let alone 2010). Take a look at the outcry of young adults over the Florida shooting two weeks ago.
I never listen to political polls. If you watch Fox News, it will favour Trump. If you watch CNN, it won't favour him. It's all biased.

MSNBC is owned by Comcast now and GE before that. They are left of right, but that isn't even in what used to be the center.
Yeah, they are all biased ... none of them are left. It really just depends on how far right you want to go.
That's the problem with media and why I rarely watch news. I want to see a reputable news organization that just reports news.

After all, a minority of voters actually voted for Trump; a minority of voters voted for Republicans in the House, and a minority of voters are represented by the Republican majority of Senators in the Senate. That Senate would not allow a majority voted sitting President to advance a nomination for the Supreme Court and used their minority backed majority in the Senate to suspend the rules and place one of the most extreme right judges on the court in his place to hold a majority there.
That is American democracy in action.
