Bannon sits with Mueller for in-depth interview

Steve Bannon, former strategist in the T-rump White House before he was fired last August, sat down with special counsel Mueller during a two-day period this week and answered questions for over twenty hours, according to sources. Sources believe the interview covered possible collusion with the Trump campaign and Russia, which the special counsel is investigating, as well as other possible criminal issues which have surfaced since the probe.

On Thursday, he appeared before the House Intelligence Committee for a second time, and once again refused to answer questions, as he did on January 16.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the committee, told reporters, “The only questions he would answer were questions that had been scripted, literally scripted for him by the White House. Whenever we sought to probe anything beyond the four corners of the specific wording of the question, he refused to answer. That’s not how executive privilege works.” Schiff said he answered 25 questions written from the White House, and answered 'NO' to each question.

Schiff said the only course of action they presently have is to cite him in contempt of Congress.

Schiff added, "I suspect that Mr. Bannon has been informed that (the White House) will only stonewall so far. They will never allow him to be fined or go to jail, but they do wish to draw the process as long as they can."
