Probably because the flame has been turned up higher this week under T-rump's ass, and when that happens T-rump uses his smoke-and-mirrors tactic to divert the attention away from him. "Look over there, folks - do you see what the Dems did?"

On Thursday, the three attorneys defending T-rump's former campaign aid Rick Gates have stepped down, with no public reason given. That in itself is unusual for Gates's lawyers to withdraw without offering any public explanation. Typically, it's the step taken when lawyers feel they can no longer "ethically justify representing a client" but can not reveal that information under attorney-client privilege rules. Another major reason why this happens is if negotiations for a plea deal are underway, that could also serve as a reason for attorneys keeping quiet. So this could represent what's called a "prelude to a plea."

The team of three has been replaced by criminal defense attorney Tom Green, who recently helped former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert negotiate a plea deal. (Green's 'D.C.' experience goes all the way back to the Nixon / Watergate scandal.) On Thursday, attorneys from Green's firm were seen entering the building where Mueller works. Hmmmm....

This strongly suggests that Gates - like Flynn - has flipped like a pancake, and will now be working with with special counsel Robert Mueller's office, as he negotiates a plea-deal. This is not good for T-rump in the least, no matter how much his team and FAUX NEWS tries their best to sugar-coat this, and pretend it's a 'nothing burger'. In fact it's an easily-flipped greasy cheeseburger prepared to do more harm than good for T-rump.

That is why this is going on today - to distract from the Gates situation.
