Donald Trump promised Fake News Awards.
Tonight he and the GOP delivered, The Highly-Anticipated 2017 Fake News Awards
The GOP website crashed from the demand (an archived link is here).

1. The New York Times’ Paul Krugman claimed on the day of President Trump’s historic, landslide victory that the economy would never recover.

2. ABC News’ Brian Ross CHOKES and sends markets in a downward spiral with false report.

3. CNN FALSELY reported that candidate Donald Trump and his son Donald J. Trump, Jr. had access to hacked documents from WikiLeaks.

4. TIME FALSELY reported that President Trump removed a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. from the Oval Office.

5. Washington Post FALSELY reported the President’s massive sold-out rally in Pensacola, Florida was empty. Dishonest reporter showed picture of empty arena HOURS before crowd started pouring in.

6. CNN FALSELY edited a video to make it appear President Trump defiantly overfed fish during a visit with the Japanese prime minister. Japanese prime minister actually led the way with the feeding.

7. CNN FALSELY reported about Anthony Scaramucci’s meeting with a Russian, but retracted it due to a “significant breakdown in process.”

8. Newsweek FALSELY reported that Polish First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda did not shake President Trump’s hand.

9. CNN FALSELY reported that former FBI Director James Comey would dispute President Trump’s claim that he was told he is not under investigation.

10. The New York Times FALSELY claimed on the front page that the Trump administration had hidden a climate report.

11. And last, but not least: “RUSSIA COLLUSION!” Russian collusion is perhap

I am so relieved he is spending time as President on something as important as this.

Maybe next week he can work on his 'fake campaign promises' ? John Kelly can help him.

reply

The landslide victory is fake news...you would have to win the popular vote for that statement to be true.

reply

In T-rump world, where there is nothing but 'alternate facts', he did win the popular vote. LOL!

reply

And the biglyest crowd EVAR showed up to cheer him on!

reply

"I am so relieved he is spending time as President on something as important as this."

You think that instances of the news media - which is constitutionally assigned to be a watchdog over government - publishing lies about the president aren't important?

The Democrat Party thrives on morons like you believing their bullshit.

"You think that instances of the news media - which is constitutionally assigned to be a watchdog over government - publishing lies about the president aren't important?"

I think the 2,000+ lies which the President has told Americans in his first twelve months in Office are most important. You don't?

reply

"I think the 2,000+ lies which the President has told Americans in his first twelve months in Office are most important. You don't? "

I don't really concern myself with liberal fantasies.

The Democrat Party thrives on morons like you believing their bullshit.

reply

In other words, you just deal with 'alternate facts' and not 'the truth'. Got it.

reply

"In other words, you just deal with 'alternate facts' and not 'the truth'. Got it."

That would be part of your liberal fantasies.

By the way, I don't see you refuting any of the above winners. Just whining like a bitch about them.

The Democrat Party thrives on morons like you believing their bullshit.

Number 5 is definitely incorrect. The Washington Post did not report this. A Post reporter did so on his personal twitter feed (which is a big difference). The reporter subsequently took it down, admitted he was wrong and apologized. Gracious as always when apologized too, Trump insisted the reporter should be fired.

reply

Wouldn't it be great if the Washington Post gave awards for the best lies he told in his first year? SO far he's at 2,000 lies since being sworn in - they will have plenty to pick from.

reply

One error, so the list is only 91% correct. A lot better than DoggyDoDo posts!

reply

That was the one I know of, I didn't dig too deep into the others. I know the MLK bust one was indeed reported but quickly retracted and an apology issued. The thing about reporting is that mistakes are going to be made and when that happens it's important to note when a public retraction and apology was made as well.

How do you feel about fact checking website politifact.com having Trump's stats for public statements as:

True: 4%
Mostly True: 12%
Half True: 15%
Mostly False: 21 %
False: 33%
Pants on Fire: 15%

I believe facts matter and if the media gets something wrong they should be called out on it. But this applies to President Trump as well.

reply

Donald Trump had more free exposure than any other candidate in the presidential election.

If anyone was harmed by the corporate media, it was Bernie Sanders.

reply

Can anyone give any examples of the mainstream media reporting anything in error that was positive toward Trump?

Anyone?

Has the Left given up on defending the fantasy of the mainstream media playing it right down the middle?

reply

I have a feeling we're going to have SO MUCH more nominees for the 2018 list.
