John Travers: John Travers. Editor: Jenny. John Travers was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Westport, Connecticut. Son of novelist Robert Travers and half-brother of singer Mary Travers (of folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary), Travers began making films at the age of eleven. His professional career began in high school, working as Production Assistant for "Friday the 13th" director Sean Cunningham and producer Steve Miner.
