I think many people were attracted to her when they saw the potential she had, as well as the talent, and noticed she was far more intelligent than most 2 dimensional women of her age, or older. She seemed wise beyond her years, and showed a very caring nature, such as the episode of Punk'd where she got upset after believing a dog was stolen while placed in her care, and the hilarity of her outburst of swearing when she realised she had been set up. It was funny.
But then, the bubble burst.

The talent and vulnerability she showed in Joan of Arcadia, as well as Stephanie Daley never seemed to reappear again. She did The Grudge 2, a film which pretty much dissappeared from theatres with a fortnight. Then she did Sisterhood 2, and that barely got a mention in terms of reviews in many countries, mine included. We all thought that her and America Ferrera would have the bigger careers of the four women. That did not happen, for her anyway, either. America Ferrera, at the peak of Ugly Betty, stole alot of her thunder, and Blake Lively stole the rest. (I'm kinda on the fence about Alexis Bliedel. She's not really done anything memorable outside of Sin City, bar The Ballad of GI Joe video on FunnyorDie. That was great. I'd like to see her reach her potential, especially before she hits 30.)

Now here we are, a number of years after Stephanie Daley, and The Grudge, and Amber has done little in terms of TV and film work. Her last gig, The Unusuals was rightly cancelled after one season. It just was not very good, and she seemed to be very wooden, and too young, for the lead role. On the other hand, Alexis Bliedel, Blake Lively and America Ferrera are gaining steady employment. Alexis has a new film coming out in the next few months, Blake Lively has Gossip Girl, and a starring role in the new Green Lantern film, and America Ferrera, fresh from the Ugly Betty cancellation, already has a new show in the pipeline, as well as a number of other film projects. Compare that to Amber's current projects, one, and that is very dissappointing.

If you are reading this, and feel I am mocking Amber, I assure you I am not. I merely wish for her to reach her potential, and reach the career heights we all know she can achieve.

I'm not sure why though. She's got talent, and she seems like a nice girl too.

Everything was golden until she did The Grudge 2. After that things slowed down alot.

She seems to be in a bit of a drought at the moment. Hope she comes out of it. I agree, she seems like a nice woman. Hopefully she recovers.

I liked The Grudge 2 and I thought Amber did a great job on it too.
