Good question; Sudeikis sounds pretty Greek, but his first names (Daniel Jason) aren't really. As well, the "ei" in the middle of Sudeikis throws me off a bit. I wish he were Greek; there aren't enough Greek actors/performers out there!

My name is Jason. Jason is a name of greek origin. It means healer.

Ever hear of the Argonauts?

His name sounds Greek the ''iki' bit is typical of Greek names like Thessaloniki . However the name 'Jason' is in fact Greek , it is a corruption of Jesus , hence 'Jason and the Argonauts'.

but...how can jason be a corruption of jesus when the name jason was around in ancient greece, and jesus was the greek version of the hebrew name yeshua/joshua, much later on? doesn't the name jason appear earlier than the name jesus? and i can see how Iesoua (it wouldn't let me post greek letters here!!!) could be corrupted to Ihsous (i'd learned in ancient greek class that the eta had a long "a" sound, sort of similar to an epsilon's), but i have a more difficult time understanding how it can be corrupted to Iaswn, with an alpha and no "ou" sound. (and yes, i've read what it says on dictionary.com, but they don't quite convince me.) can u please explain, if u know?
