I was perusing Kristen's IMDb page a few minutes ago and was surprised to find that Love Me is already in post production as I didn't even know they began producing this film. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21375602/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_2
Love Me, she says, is set "after we're all dead. It's like the earth is freezing over, and the trace that we have left behind is the internet. And the overriding idea behind the movie is that this buoy, myself — Me is the name of the character — is everything we left behind. Which is kind of just, 'Look at me, look at me, love me, love me, love me,'" she explains. "So this satellite pings, and we connect. And I'm just trying to give him all the information I have of what we as humans have left behind."
"Every version of a person, and every avenue that we try and connect to each other with is represented. There's a lot of visual transformations," she teases of the film's fluid roles. "I rifle through being a boy, a girl, really ambiguously gendered, different races. [Steven] does the same thing. There's a lot of fighting and loving and sex. It's basically that we are all so starving for attention. And we don't always know how to convey ourselves truthfully, in order to get a validating form of true love."
Admittedly, I haven't heard of Steven Yuen until I watched Minari and was impressed by his acting range. His character started off as mostly easygoing and laid-back. But as the film progressed, he became more troubled and deeply distressed because of the ordeals he faced, eventually churning out a gut-wrenching and provocative performance, which earned him a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
So here's a soon to be completed film that very few have heard about, yet stars two actors who have recently received acting Oscar noms. So as you can imagine I'm very much looking forward to watching this film, being that I'm a fan of Kristen, and to a lesser degree, Steven Yuen, as well as the thought provoking topics this film will explore.

Another upcoming movie which stars Steven Yuen which I'm looking forward to watching Ron, is Nope, which is written and directed by Jordan Peele and costars Daniel Kaluuya of Get Out, Keke Palmer of Hustlers, and two of my favorite character actors, Michael Wincott and Keith David.
I checked out "Nope". It sounds like a good sci-fi movie involving possible UFOs. I like that kind of story. :) It's already out, so I figure I'll see it when it comes to cable/on demand.
Hi LL.
Ten months ago I posted the cover story from Entertainment Weekly which was mostly about Spencer.
However, towards the end of the article, the following passage appeared ...
(from: https://ew.com/movies/kristen-stewart-cover-story-spencer/)
On deck next is a David Cronenberg film called Crimes of the Future costarring Viggo Mortensen, and a high concept sci-fi drama opposite Minari's Steven Yeun. ("It's actually a love story between a satellite and a buoy, it's hard to explain. I hope I don't botch it because it's a revolutionarily written script.")
That was the first and only time I had heard of this project until a few days ago, when like you, I noticed that a film titled Love Me had been added to Kristen's IMDb page under the status of Post-Production.
Thanks for posting further info from Entertainment Weekly regarding this film.
In other news, I see that the following actors have been added to the cast of Love Lies Bleeding, the film that Kristen is currently working on. They are ...
Jena Malone (Jena and Kristen previously had roles in Into the Wild)
Ed Harris
Anna Baryshnikov
Dave Franco
Katy M. O'Brian
Finally, Kristen apparently had a cameo appearance in the final episode of Irma Vep, an HBO mini-series that was written and directed by Olivier Assayas, who previously directed Kristen in Clouds of Sils Maria and Personal Shopper.
Thanks Carved, for posting the link to that IndieWire article. Ever since I saw Alicia's mesmerizing performance in Ex Machina, I was hoping she and Kristen would both star in a project together. Hopefully one day they will costar in a feature film.
As far as the actors in Love Lies Bleeding, the credited cast is quite impressive. Now I'm just curious as to find out who will play the female bodybuilders in this film.
A24 seems to be moving into the body mod genre. There was the announcement of Darren Aronofsky's next project, The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser as a 600 pound man, then Rose Glass' Love Lies Bleeding, starring Kristen Stewart as a bodybuilder, and now there's A Different Man, a psychological thriller around a man (Sebastian Stan) with a condition called neurofibromatosis, which heavily augments the appearance of certain body parts, most noticeably the face. If two is a coincidence but three is a pattern, we've definitely got a pattern on our hands.
So there you have it. I must say that I was quite surprised to read that Kristen would be playing a bodybuilder, but such is what Slash Film states.
Of course, this info could be a mistake on their part as it seems so out of character for Kristen. I guess only time will tell.

That would be a huge surprise if that were true, Carved. I recall reading an article stating that Kristen's character is the girlfriend of a female bodybuilder. Had that article mentioned that Kristen herself would play the role of a bodybuilder, I'm pretty sure it would have stuck in my mind--permanently burned in my cerebral cortex--for how often does any actress portray a professional/competitive female bodybuilder, especially if she's not one in real life? That would certainly be a first for Kristen, and the vast majority of active actresses who work in Hollywood for that matter.
Love Lies Bleeding: Everything We Know So Far About The Kristen Stewart A24 Romance
So far, we know few details about what will happen in "Love Lies Bleeding," the most significant of which is that it takes place within the world of competitive bodybuilding. Stewart will play the girlfriend of one such bodybuilder, with the film focusing on their relationship as one "fueled by ego, desire, and the American Dream," according to the official logline. Given its specific focus on female characters, it is likely that the female bodybuilding space, which was showcased in the 1985 documentary "Pumping Iron II: The Women," will be given a major spotlight.
"Stewart will play the girlfriend of one such bodybuilder ..."
Well that certainly makes much more sense than what Slash Film wrote.
Kristen playing the girlfriend of a bodybuilder is a helluva lot different than her playing a bodybuilder.
Thanks for helping clear that up, LL.
Just imagine, Carved, if Kristen were to play a professional female bodybuilder, she would have to undergo an even more extreme body transformation than Taylor Lautner did in order look the part in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
Either that or the VFX team would have their work cut out for them--we're talking some serious deepfake editing to pull this off realistically--something Hollywood has yet to accomplish.
Thanks for the info on this new movie "Love Lies Bleeding." She's always busy but lately seems to be getting a bit busier with movie roles. I assume most of these are Indie movies which often have the more interesting character types though are smaller movies.
Exactly Ron. Makes me wonder how she will find the time to direct her own movie, The Chronology of Water.
Perhaps this may be the reason why Kristen has yet to respond to the emails which I sent to her talent agent. On my latest email, I attached a PDF file of my screenplay, something which I believe is against WME Entertainment policy as they supposedly don't accept any unsolicited scripts.
If you are interested in reading my screenplay, Ron, and don't have an issue with giving me your email in a private message, I'll be happy to send it to you. I finally got the script under 200 PDF pages--shaved off nearly 50 pages. I recall right before IMDb closed it's message boards that some of us exchanged emails to keep in contact and to decide which forum we would migrate to next.
The reason why I may need your email is because I tried attaching the PDF file of my screenplay to a PM and it seems Moviechat does not allow for attachments--unless there's a way to do so which I'm not aware of.
I also tried to upload my screenplay to the cloud on my two Google Drive accounts, but when I clicked on the button "Get Link" it did not generate a URL which I could use as a link to my script. So if you or someone else could help me out on this I could send you a link to my script on a PM, which may be the preferred method, instead of having to send it directly to your email address.
Hey LL, yes I would be interested in reading it. I'll send you my email in a PM. You may not be able to send all of it given how big it is but maybe you can send a part of it. Or some kind of summary.
Great to hear you are interested in reading it, Ron. I sent an email with the PDF file of my screenplay attached--so hopefully you will receive it. Please let me know if you haven't received it or have an issue with accessing the contents of the PDF file and I will resend it.
I glad you received it, Ron. Like I told Carved earlier, the script has some typographical/formatting errors for when I converted it from 12-point courier (industry standard screenplay font) to PDF format, for some odd reason some of the words and paragraphs got split in half, some sentences got moved to the next paragraph, while some words and headings got deleted completely. So please bear with me on these formatting errors.
"In other news, I see that the following actors have been added to the cast of Love Lies Bleeding, the film that Kristen is currently working on. They are ...
Jena Malone (Jena and Kristen previously had roles in Into the Wild)"
I didn't realize that they both were "In The Wild". I think I first saw Jena Malone in her role "The Hunger Games". She seems cool too, a bit like Kristen.
Thanks for the Indiewire link about "Irma Veep". Alicia Vikander is another actress I like; good to see her and Kristen together in a show, though only for a cameo in a finale.
Ron, Jena Malone played Carina McCandless, Chris McCandless' sister, in Into the Wild. Chris, of course, was played by Emile Hirsch. In addition, Jena provided the narration in the film.
I first saw Jena when she played the younger version of Jodie Foster's character in Contact (1997).
So there's an interesting link for you ... Jena played a younger version of Jodie Foster in Contact, while Kristen played Jodie Foster's daughter in Panic Room (2002).
Just placed my order at Amazon for the Crimes of the Future Blu-ray, which gets released tomorrow, August 9th.
I still have not seen this film, so sometime this week I'll be able to watch it.
Because of a shortage of space in my Blu-ray/DVD cabinet, I sometimes repack two films into a single case which holds two discs.
As far as Kristen's films go, I have done this with ...
DVDs of Adventureland (2009) & Carny (1980), which stars a young Jodie Foster, Gary Busey and Robbie Robertson of The Band,
DVDs of Speak (2005) & The Cake Eaters (2007) - had to put those two together,
Blu-rays of Lizzie (2018) & J.T. LeRoy (2018),
and now, when it arrives, I do believe that I shall repack this Crimes of the Future Blu-ray with my Blu-ray of Equals (2015).
I feel that those two will go together quite nicely.
Some of the other films I've done this with include ...
DVDs of A Night at the Opera (1935) & A Day at the Races (1937) - two of my favorite Marx Brothers films
DVDs of Hans Christian Anderson (1952) & The Court Jester (1955) - two classics starring Danny Kaye
DVDs of Garbo Talks (1984) & Crossing Delancey (1988)
DVDs of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) & The Thing from Another World (1951)
Blu-rays of Starman (1984) & Stargate (1994)
Blu-rays of Casablanca (1942) & The African Queen (1951)
Blu-rays of Stalag 17 (1953) & Von Ryan's Express (1965)
Blu-rays of The King's Speech (2010) & Darkest Hour (2017)
I ran out of space too Carved, so much so that I put most of my DVDs in either Memorex Slim Jewel Cases or plastic sleeves. I may be doing the same eventually with my Blu-ray collection. For this reason, and being that I'm miser when it comes to buying things on eBay, I've been buying lots of used Blu-ray and DVD movies for pennies on the dollar as they come with no case and ship for very cheap, similar to how Netflix ships their movies in paper sleeves. Buying used movies can be a gamble, but if you purchase them from a reputable seller, in my case, I rarely receive movies that don't playback flawlessly.
While I have yet to watch the Blu-ray version, if it's as good as the streamed version which I watched, I'm pretty sure you'll be pleased with the Blu-ray transfer.
LL, even though the release date for the Crimes of the Future Blu-ray was Tuesday, August 9th, I have yet to receive any notice from Amazon that my order has been shipped.
All I have received is the following message ...
"Delivery Date Pending. We'll Let You Know When Your Item Ships."
In the past, whenever I placed an order with Amazon for a film prior to its release date, I always received the approximate delivery date info when I placed the order. The product was then shipped the day before the release date, thus it arrived on the actual release date. This is exactly what happened when I bought Spencer, as well as some other Blu-rays from Amazon.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer to receive my copy this time. Hopefully it won't take too long.
I've got no problem waiting a week or two, but anything longer than that would be unacceptable.
EDIT: I just clicked on the link you provided regarding the quality of the Crimes of the Future Blu-ray transfer.
Towards the bottom of the page, there's a list of 16 films under the title of Similar Films You Might Like.
Of those 16, I own two of them on Blu-ray. They are ... Fahrenheit 451 (1965) and Soylent Green (1973)
Because of my previously mentioned space limitations, I repacked Soylent Green with my Blu-ray of Dark City (1998).
Repacking Crimes of the Future with Fahrenheit 451 is a thought, but I still think that I'll repack it with Equals because of the Kristen connection.
Finally, I've never bought a DVD or Blu-ray from eBay, but I have bought several used ones from Amazon.
I've always been pleased with both the quality of the discs as well as the condition of the original packaging.
Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that I do have one short film packaged in a Memorex slim case.
That one is Cutlass (2007), which I downloaded from YouTube and burned onto a DVD.
Also on that DVD are forty music videos of songs that I really like, the last of which is The Rolling Stones' Ride 'Em On Down.
Opening with Kristen's short film about wanting that Cutlass and closing with her driving around L.A. in the Stones' video seemed like the perfect way to bookend that DVD.
Sadly, I won't be able to do that anymore because YouTube has successfully blocked all the programs I know of that allowed someone to download a video from their site.
I am very glad that I burned my Cutlass DVD before that happened.
I recall, Carved, the time you told me that you ordered a Spencer Blu-ray from Amazon and that despite pre-ordering it weeks before it's release date that the approximate delivery date would be several days after its release. So if there's any consolation, hopefully this means you'll be receiving it in the mail sooner than you think. Case in point: About a week ago I order some Blu-ray blank media from Amazon and was only told a couple days ago that they had just shipped it. So I was surprised to receive it in the mail today--very speedy shipping considering I live in Hawaii.
It seems that you and I have similar taste when it comes to dystopian sci-fi films. The first time I watched Dark City I mistakenly assumed it was released after The Matrix came out, thus ripping off from it. I was very impressed when I found out that this film came out the year before the Wachowski's masterpiece. But then again, Alex Proyas is a formidable director in his own right.
As far as YouTube downloaders go--I must admit I only tried the free versions and years ago they worked flawlessly. However, over the past few years these programs don't work as intended for the reason you mentioned. The funny thing about how I came to learn about such software is from an 8-year-old kid who told me how he downloaded thousands of songs for free to put on his MP3 player. I was thinking to myself, how can this be? That was until I tried it myself.
Hi LL,
Still have not received any confirmation that my Blu-ray has been shipped, so today I contacted my local Target store to see if I could buy one there.
Interestingly, while they do have the Crimes of the Future DVD in stock, they don't have the Blu-ray either.
Needless to say, this came as somewhat of a surprise to me.
I wonder what is going on.
Anyway, my current plan is to wait until next Tuesday, which will be one week since the DVD and Blu-ray were supposed to be released.
If I still have not heard anything from Amazon regarding an expected shipment date, I'll try and find it elsewhere.
If I'm still unsuccessful, then I'll seriously consider buying the DVD.
UPDATE (8/13): Early this morning at 5:35 AM, I received an e-mail from Amazon with a delivery estimate for my Crimes of the Future Blu-ray order. Said order is now expected to arrive sometime between Sunday, September 4th and Wednesday, September 28th.
Uh, Amazon, do you think you can be a little more precise? A 24 day window, eh? Talk about a crime of the future.
Oh well, at least it's a small crime ... https://youtu.be/cgqOSCgc8xc (couldn't resist including this song)
Anyway, I have decided to wait for the Blu-ray to arrive rather than cancel the order and get the DVD.
In the meantime, I shall create a little more space in my DVD/Blu-ray cabinet by using my last unused double disc Blu-ray case and repack two Bruce Willis films together. They are my Blu-rays of ... Mercury Rising (1998) and Striking Distance (1993).
I have already repacked my Blu-rays of Die Hard (1988) and Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) together.
Then towards the end of August, I'll buy another 10 pack of those double disc Blu-ray cases from Amazon.
The reason for waiting is that I earn rewards points from Amazon a few days after I pay my Chase-Visa bill, so I'll use those rewards points to pay for most, if not all, of the cost of those cases.
And yes, I did use my rewards points from July to pay for most of the cost of my Crimes of the Future Blu-ray order.
Finally, I too am guilty of occasionally downloading a song from YouTube and placing it in my iTunes library.
However, in my own defense, with the exception of the forty music videos I downloaded for the previously mentioned DVD that I burned (btw, I already owned those songs, either from iTunes or on CDs. I just wanted the music videos of those songs for my DVD), I only downloaded a song from YouTube when I was unable to find the song I wanted on iTunes and purchase it there, or if it were a live version, where the sound quality was very good with very little crowd noise.
A perfect example of a song I wanted that was not available on iTunes is Lauren Pritchard's As Shadows Do, the song that plays during the final credits of The Cake Eaters. It was never made available for sale, and since I don't know how to rip it off my DVD of The Cake Eaters, the only way for me to get it was to download an MP3 version it from the video on YouTube and then place it in my iTunes library.
That being said, I realize that I was one of the few who did it this way. I'm quite sure that the vast majority of YouTube downloaders were like that 8-year old kid you mentioned. They just wanted free music. Thus out of necessity, YouTube had to block those download programs.
Hopefully Amazon gets their act together and mails you your order ASAP, Carved, like they eventually did with the Spencer Blu-ray that was released back in January.
While I have a subscription to iTunes, you're probably well aware of the sheer multitude of songs which they don't have, as in my case there were a bunch which weren't available. If it's not on iTunes I check out alternative sites like mp3va.com to download songs. If a song isn't available on any of these other sites I would then download it from YouTube as the last resort. And there definitely is a tradeoff even when you can download it for free as YouTube songs are uploaded/downloaded at 128 Kbps instead of the industry standard 320 Kbps bitrate for HD audio.
I recently sent Ron a PDF file containing the screenplay I wrote. If you too would like to read it, I would be more than happy to send it to you if you give me your email address in a personal message. I still have the email you sent me five years ago in a PM, but I'm not sure if this address is still current. Like I told Ron, I uploaded the PDF file of my script to the cloud via Google Drive but for some strange reason it doesn't generate a URL link I could post in a PM.
Here's the synopsis of my script, which I believe you will find compelling considering we have similar tastes when it comes to dystopian sci-fi movies:
This story is predominantly a cautionary tale set in the not so distant future, which tells of a billionaire philanthropist named Jobina Cohen, whose mission in life is to do her part to save the world. But little does she know that the future of humanity hangs in the balance and hinges upon a decision only she can make. She lives during a time when the centralization of power has reached a crescendo point, posing an existential threat to the very survival of humankind.
As dystopian as this sounds, there is still hope just as long as she makes the right choice. However, because so much is at stake, an elite ruling class will do everything in their power to try and prevent Jobina from saving the day and the world. So this story will be rife with conflict between the protagonist and antagonists and charts a collision course between the wealthy and the poor, between mankind and technology, and between man and God. To describe it as a riches to rags back to riches plot wouldn’t tell the half of it. To say Jobina goes on the proverbial hero’s journey would be an understatement for the ages. To imply this script has the potential to help create the best female-oriented film of all time—oh well, I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
Hollywood may not yet be ready to produce a film based on a script such as this, as it’s loaded with spiritual motifs and moral premises, but there’s no denying that it is relevant for the times we are living in. And besides, isn’t that what indie actors and directors, such as magnificent Kristen Stewart are for? What is detailed in this informal query letter doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what is contained in my screenplay. So if you are curious to find out more, including my take on the end game of my story, please give it a read.
My e-mail address has not changed, LL.
Please go ahead and e-mail me your script, por favor.
Gracias.
And now from the "Not that it matters much" file,
the Miami Dolphins preseason record is 1-0, having beaten the Bucs up in Tampa.
Hey, I'm just glad that a new football season is about to begin.
Plus, I understand that Jobina Cohen is a big Dolphins fan as well. ;-)
Yes, Carved, I was perusing through my email and noticed that I sent you a message early last year using the same address. So I went ahead and sent you my screenplay a few minutes ago. I was skimming though the PDF version of my script and noticed some of the words and paragraphs are split in half. This must have happened when I converted my script from 12-point courier font to PDF format. So please bear with me on this.
Like I mentioned earlier, I've deleted several pages of dialog along with some subplots from my script in order to cut it down to under 200 pages, mercilessly omitting anything which didn't advance the story forward, as I was admonished to "kill your darlings" so to speak, from the books on screenwriting I've read. So the storyline isn't nearly as fleshed out as it could be. If anyone decides to produce a film based on this script, I believe it could become epic in scope, with perhaps enough material to make a four hour film or two feature films. And I believe this story, if it falls in the right hands, has nearly unlimited potential if say, a seasoned Hollywood screenwriter applies his or her master craft to it.
Being that I reside in Hawaii, many of us NFL fans often root for multiple teams because we don't have a pro team to represent the 50th State. I became a Tampa Bay fan after Brady left the Patriots--so you're right about Jobina Cohen in the sense that the one who conceived her character, yours truly, is a bandwagon Bucs fan.
Have received the e-mail, LL, although I have not yet opened the PDF attachment.
Will let you know when I start reading your script.
When done, I do believe that I shall attempt to burn a new Kristen music cd with songs that I believe relate to your script.
That should be an interesting challenge.
In other news, I see that IMDb has changed the status of Love Lies Bleeding from Filming to Post-Production.
UPDATE: LL, based on what you have told me about your script, there are three songs which I will probably include on my previously mentioned cd. They are ...
1) Van Morrison: Ancient Highway - https://youtu.be/o0xEheYqjuI
These lyrics seem to fit quite nicely ...
"I'll be praying to my higher self,
Don't let me down, don't let me down,
Keep my feet on the ground ..."
2) Jackson Browne: Before the Deluge - https://youtu.be/7SX-HFcSIoU
3) Bruce Springsteen: Hunter of Invisible Game - https://youtu.be/_HVuTCfixwA
(note: the actual song begins 5:30 into this dystopian 10:15 short film)
When it comes to song lyrics, you sure know your stuff, Carved. If I were in charge of selecting songs for a soundtrack for a film based on my screenplay, I would probably go primarily for the atmospheric qualities of a song to create a distinctive mood of the scenes and the feelings the melody, harmony and rhythm such music elicit in me. And being that this is a female oriented script, I would likewise choose songs from female singers to comprise my entire list:
Hey Carved, you must be pretty stoked that Miami recently won and remains one of only three undefeated teams in the NFL. I just got off the phone with Jobina and she's ecstatic as well. Could this be the year that the Dolphins go all the way to the Super Bowl? Saying so isn't much of a stretch as they beat their AFC East Division rival Buffalo Bills, who some predict will be the best team in the NFL this season.
I believe their success is due in large part to Hawaii native Tua Tagovailoa who is finally playing up to his full potential. He is currently 2nd in passing yards with 925, 3rd in touchdowns with 8, and 1st in QBR. I don't want to jinx their winning streak but hopefully they'll beat the Bengals, another potential playoff contender, whom they will play on Thursday.
Yeah, I'm extremely happy, not to mention quite surprised, that the Dolphins are 3-0, LL.
The reason for my surprise is because of the teams they have beaten.
Let's face it, the first four games of their 2022 schedule was very difficult ...
New England Patriots at home
Baltimore Ravens on the road
Buffalo Bills (whom many believe is the best team in the league) at home
Cincinnati Bengals on the road.
I kinda figured that they would beat the Patriots, but never would I have imagined that they could come back and beat the Ravens after being behind by 21 points in the 4th quarter. Couple that by beating the Bills the following week makes for a very unexpected start of the season.
So now it's off to Cincinnati to play the Bengals on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have vacated Tampa and are practicing at the Dolphins facility here in Miami for their home game Sunday night. This due to the hurricane that will smash into the west coast of Florida in a couple of days. The NFL will probably have to relocate that game to another venue, most likely in the midwest.

The latest advisory I looked at mentioned how Hurricane Ian appears to be tracking towards the south and east. So if this hurricane remains on this course, Tampa might be spared from a direct hit, while it could make landfall further south near Naples, Port Charlotte or Fort Myers and these counties could experience the brunt of the storm surge instead with heavy flooding. This could be the reason why millions of Florida residents were urged to evacuate a huge area ranging from Tampa all the way down south to Fort Myers.
Hopefully, this means that Miami will be spared, at least as far as the hurricane's storm surge if the trajectory remains consistent, although Miami residents could experience powerful winds strong enough to blow the roofs off of houses. But then again, being a lifelong Hawaii resident, I'm all too familiar with the unpredictability of hurricanes which are sometimes known to change trajectory or even stalling for a considerable amount of time before continuing on its course. Some are predicting that if Ian makes landfall, it could then slowly move across Florida and dump lots of rain. Thus, if possible, it may be good advice to evacuate inundation zones in Southern Florida such as Naples Florida and other counties along the path of the hurricane and move to higher ground due to flooding. For this reason, I've often heard the expression whenever a hurricane comes close to Hawaii, "We may not be out of the woods just yet."
At the moment, this Category 3 storm currently has an 80 mile wide swath of hurricane force winds and a 300 mile wide swath of tropical storm force winds. However, the warm Gulf of Mexico waters will further strengthen it to become a Category 4 hurricane.

I have a co-worker in northeast Florida, but he still expects to get hit a bit hard. My brother and his wife have a small place in Port Charlotte they spend winters at. It isn't on the coast but the center of the hurricane is going right through the area. He's waiting to hear from neighbors if his place takes damage or not.
A former coworker of mine who was originally from South Florida recently moved back because the cost of living in Hawaii is so high. She hasn't kept in touch with me or my other coworkers since moving back, so I have no idea how she's doing at the moment.
As far as where Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ian is heading, I'll look to what Joe Bastardi who is the founder, chief forecaster and meteorologist at WeatherBELL, who accurately predicted where it would initially make landfall. In a news interview, he mentioned that the storm will head north to counties in Central Florida like Orlando and northeast to cities like Jacksonville. For this reason, the National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch from northeast Florida to South Carolina.
Interestingly, he described in great detail how when a storm is moving parallel to the west coast of Florida, frictional effects will cause it to pull inland. And once it makes landfall, it will look for water on the other side (Atlantic Coast). If it gets back to the water, it could restrengthen back into a hurricane. Conversely, when a hurricane approaches the right side of Florida, the frictional effect will keep it offshore.
I've also been seeing Joe Bastardi give forecasts and a lot of good information on Ian plus information on hurricanes in general. He's a real wealth of information as you note.
In other news, I was quite surprised to read in Indiewire's article regarding early Best Supporting Actress predictions that Kristen is currently one of the five frontrunners for her performance in Crimes of the Future. I say currently, because Anne Thompson, the author, states that she only included performances that she had seen in the Frontrunner category.
2023 Oscars: Early Best Supporting Actress Predictions
by Anne Thompson
Emerging from Cannes with rave reviews was recent Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart, who plays an eager scientist with a crush on a performance artist (Viggo Mortensen) in David Cronenberg's Crimes of the Future.
The thing that surprised me about this was that although I have not yet seen the film (still waiting for the Blu-ray), I did read many reviews of it, and while some praised Kristen's performance, I sure wouldn't categorize that praise as "rave reviews."
The five actresses currently in the Frontrunners category are ...
Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything, Everywhere All at Once)
Anne Hathaway (Armageddon Time)
Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere All at Once)
Zoe Kravitz (The Batman)
Kristen Stewart (Crimes of the Future)
Then there are seven actresses listed in the Contenders category. Of those seven, Kristen had previously worked with three of them.
Patricia Clarkson (She Said) - Patricia played Kristen's mom in The Safety of Objects (2001)
Laura Dern (The Son) - Certain Women (2016) and J.T. LeRoy (2018)
Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans) - Certain Women (2016)
This category is then followed by 14 actresses listed in the Longshots category.
Finally, LL - although I have not yet finished reading your script, I have burned not one, but two CDs with songs I feel are relatable to the plot you described. Two of the songs you listed are included. I'll post YouTube videos of the 32 songs (16 on each disc) in a day or two.
And yes, the three songs I listed in my previous post are included on one of those CDs.
Btw, that CD has a bit of a surprise on it.

I'm surprised as well, Carved. Being that Anne Thompson selected two actresses from the same movie Everything, Everywhere All at Once, either shows that this is her absolute favorite film so far in 2022 or she hasn't seen very many movies. I'll readily admit that I only watched around 30 movies released in 2022--so my Best Supporting Actress Oscar list would be far from complete.
For example, I could have included all three actresses, Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow, as they had nearly equal screen time and all three churned out pretty good performances in the movie X. Or I could include 13-year-old up and coming actress Madeleine McGraw from The Black Phone, who did well for such a young actress, despite her performance not exactly being Oscar worthy. Or I could have chosen Tiffany Haddish as my frontrunner based primarily on the fact that The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is my top rated film so far this year in large part because of Nicholas Cage's career defining performance in this. Or, I could simply nominate Kristen Stewart because she is my favorite active actor bar none. So I believe I'll hold off on nominating any actors until I've actually watched most of the Oscar-bait type films which often contain many of the top performances, most of which are released later this year.
As far as your soundtrack which has been expanded to two CDs, I'll be especially interested in finding out which of the two songs on my soundtrack will be on yours.
Today's good news is that the Crimes of the Future Blu-ray I ordered from Amazon on August 8th has finally been shipped!

Needless to say, I was extremely annoyed that neither Speak nor The Cake Eaters were included on this list.
Then I realized that none of Kristen's pre-Twilight performances were included.
Thus Panic Room and Into the Wild were also excluded.
So to the author, Anne Billson, I say, "Sorry Anne, but I have to give your list an Incomplete."
Finally, in order to include Kristen's performances in the four films I mentioned, I would not have included Lizzie, J.T. LeRoy, Twilight and Underwater.
Needless to say, I was extremely annoyed that neither Speak nor The Cake Eaters were included on this list.
Then I realized that none of Kristen's pre-Twilight performances were included.
Thus Panic Room and Into the Wild were also excluded.
Agreed, Carved, for a primary reason why Kristen was maligned as an actress is because of her role in Twilight. To paraphrase what you stated, including Twilight while excluding some of the best performances of her career is doing her a disservice. While I myself wouldn't characterize her Bella Swan portrayal as atrocious, I definitely wouldn't rate it in her top ten by any stretch. Doing so indirectly implies and contributes to the myth that most of her roles are one-note if the majority of her acting roles are ranked lower.
I would even go as far as to say that Kristen had at least ten pre-Twilight performances I would rank higher than her role in Twilight (i.e. The Cake Eaters, Speak, Into the Wild, Panic Room, The Safety of Objects, The Messengers, Fierce People, Zathura, In the Land of Women, The Yellow Handkerchief). Even her cameo-like roles in pre-Twilight movies such as Jumper, What Just Happened, Undertow and Cutlass, I would rank higher. Heck, even her role in the family friendly flick Catch that Kid or her part in the godawful thriller, if I may call it that, Cold Creek Manor, I would deem superior. Thus, not listing a single pre-Twilight role is inexcusable. Makes me wonder if she watched any of Kristen's earlier performances.
It should also be stated that Kristen's acting has continued to become more refined, many critics describing her acting as understated or subtle and nuanced, which I totally understand. However, we mustn't forget that Kristen was absolutely fearless as an actress in some of her earliest roles. This is a major reason why Kristen's portrayal as Princess Diana holds my top spot as not only did she become the beloved Princess of Wales, in my opinion, it signaled a return to exhibiting such fearlessness we fans have come to admire her for as a budding actress.
Here's how I would rank Kristen's 20 Best Performances:
1) Spencer
2) Clouds of Sils Maria
3) The Cake Eaters
4) The Runaways
5) Speak
6) Adventureland
7) Welcome to the Rileys
8) On the Road
9) Personal Shopper
10) Still Alice
11) Into the Wild
12) Cafe Society
13) Panic Room
14) Camp X-Ray
15) Seberg
16) The Yellow Handkerchief
17) Happiest Season
18) The Safety of Objects
19) Crimes of the Future
20) American Ultra, Charlie's Angles, Equals, Snow White and the Huntsman (tied)
Notice how her roles in Lizzie, J.T. LeRoy, Certain Women, Underwater, Anesthesia and Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk did not make the cut, despite critics praising her for some of these roles. It's not that she didn't churn out good performances in those films. My exclusion had more to do with a lack of acting range being exhibited, in large part because the role didn't call for it. reply share

My list isn't written in stone so I could easily see myself ranking Kristen's performances in the exact order that you did, Ron. It appears we have very similar taste and preference, at least as far as Kristen's performances goes.
At the current time, I'm not going to make a list of which films I feel contain Kristen's best performances.
However, I shall do so after I watch my Crimes of the Future Blu-ray which arrived two days ago.
Afterall, how can I rate a performance in a film I have not yet seen?
Meanwhile, I note with interest that LL has edited his original list so that it now includes four films in the 20th position, namely American Ultra, Charlie's Angels, Equals and Snow White and the Huntsman.
Thus LL's list is now comprised of 23 films.
This made me smile, because while thinking which films I would include on my list, I kept coming to the conclusion that 20 films is not enough. So don't be surprised if my list contains 25 films rather than 20. This way there won't be any ties.
Finally, even though it's a short film, I will probably include Cutlass on my list, as I absolutely love Kristen's performance in it.
Oh yeah, LL, I'm afraid I have to take issue with your statement that Kristen's appearance in Cutlass was a "cameo-like role."
Please remember that she was in half of that 15 minute short film, so I just can't consider that cameo-like.
Needless to say, I was extremely annoyed that neither Speak nor The Cake Eaters were included on this list.
Then I realized that none of Kristen's pre-Twilight performances were included.
Thus Panic Room and Into the Wild were also excluded.
Speak and The Cake Eaters are among the best performances of hers IMO. I agree also that Panic Room and Into The Wild should also be in there as both are very strong performances. She was young in those and certainly all of them got her additional roles from studios. Sean Penn, director for Into The Wild, giving her a strong recommendation for a next role she received.
Right, the writer left out her pre-Twilight movies but then she has a lot of roles/movies so while it may appear that the writer limited the list, some of Kristen's better roles were left out.
Time for some music! Yes, I'm gonna post the track list of the two CDs I burned which were inspired by the plot of LL's script.
But first let me say that my Crimes of the Future Blu-ray arrived yesterday! Will wonders never cease.
OK, onto the music.
First off, I chose over 50 songs from my iTunes library. That was when I decided to burn two discs instead of one.
For the first disc, I decided to use songs from Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison and Jackson Browne, plus a special opening and closing.
The second disc would then be comprised of songs from both men and women -- approx. half and half.
Then came the process of choosing which songs to discard so that the remaining would fit on the two CDs.
I decided to use an instrumental from Andrew Hale that he wrote for the video game titled L.A. Noir because it matched both the L.A. Noir part of the Great Performers title, as well as the music giving the same feel that the short films did.
So that's the first CD. I'll return later to post the track listing for the second disc.
I'm back. On to the second disc.
As I previously told LL, I did include two songs that he had listed in his earlier post. One of those was Zombie by The Cranberries. The other was These Dreams, however I did not use Heart's version. Instead, I used a live acoustic version of it that Ann & Nancy Wilson did for one of the Bridge School Benefit Concerts which was organized by Neil & Pegi Young. That version is my favorite version of the song. Unfortunately, no YouTube video of that version exists, nor was I able to make one even though I had purchased the song from iTunes. Therefore, I shall post a live version of it from Heart.
That's it. Interestingly, Neil Young appears on this second CD three times (sort of). First, he was a member of Buffalo Springfield along with Stephen Stills, who sings For What It's Worth. Then he wrote After the Gold Rush, for which I included k.d. lang's cover. Finally, I included Powderfinger, a song I like a lot.
Great compilation, Carved. I didn't get a chance to listen to all of the tracks, so I can't say for sure which are my faves. Growing up, my siblings used to often play songs by Roxette, Heart, The Cranberries, k.d. lang, Linda Ronstadt, and The Rolling Stones, so their songs definitely grew on me and the musical taste I acquired as a kid still remains largely intact.
As far as the two selections we both added to our soundtracks, if there is one song which I believe captures the essence of my story, not just lyrically, but also by the emotions it elicits in me and the atmosphere it creates, it has got to be These Dreams by Heart. I was thinking about including it in the concluding scene of my screenplay or using it when the end credits roll, a nice way of wrapping up the story.
Zombie, by The Cranberries, definitely sets the right mood and ambience as well. I actually used this song in one of my Kristen Stewart music videos, the one which showcased film clips of her performance in Camp X-Ray, but for some reason YouTube removed it. This happened when this song only had a fraction of its current 1.25 billion views. Just goes to show that even songs from alternative rock groups can gain worldwide, mainstream appeal.
However, even while she looks stunning in all of the aforementioned pictures, none of them are quite becoming of the billionaire philanthropist which I have envisioned Jobina MacKenzie Cohen to be. So I would suggest you use one of the pictures of her all snazzy and spiffed-up in Dolce & Gabbana at the Critics Choice Awards, which would be more apropos and befitting of the stature of a woman as powerful as Joby, with angelic looks to boot, and worthy of gracing the cover of your soundtrack, Carved:
Thanks for the suggestions, LL. Many of them are almost really good.
I say, "almost," because I refuse to download and use any photos from Getty Images because they splash their damned logo over every photo they publish, thus, in my opinion, ruining the quality of the photos.
As for the Entertainment Weekly collection, I need to take a closer look at those.
That being said, I was hoping to use photos of Kristen where she's not a blonde.
I just feel that she looks "washed out" in some of her blonde pics, especially the first photo that appears when you click on the EW link you provided.
But thanks for the effort. I appreciate that you took the time to post those photos.
CK, some good choices there in the pics LL showed. And I liked her EW photos also. And you certainly have a lot to pick from with her many other photo shoots and appearances. Maybe something from one of her older photo shoots - she has lots of good ones there.
I have printed out these four photos and am currently deciding which pair I should use.
This is a tough one, because I really like both pair.
I would appreciate any feedback from you and LL regarding which pair you guys think I should use.
Just remember, this could very well be the most important decision both of you make all year! ;-)

If money is no object, Carved, and you are willing to part with $500 bucks for each large, high resolution image, you would have flawless pictures without the Getty Images logo.
And I totally get that because Kristen is an ambassador for Chanel and the face of Chanel makeup, that you wish to use a picture from one of her Chanel photoshoots. So if you insist on going this route, you could go with the pictures you posted previously or use a photo of her appearance at the 78th Venice International Film Festival: https://www.zoemagazine.net/177764-3-reason-why-love-kristen-stewart-chanel-makeup/ reply share
Sorry LL, but there ain't no way that I'm gonna plunk down 500 bucks to get a flawless photo of Kristen just so I can use it as a jewelbox cover photo for a compilation CD.
Plus, since there are two discs, that would be a grand.
The good news however is that I have newer photos that I am considering. As much as I like those Allure magazine pics taken under the Santa Monica pier back when Kristen was a teenager, I have decided not to use them since you state that in your script, Jobina is approximately the same age that Kristen is now.
The only thing holding me back from using the the Harper's Bazaar photo is the Harper's Bazaar logo on it. Fortunately, that logo does not bother me nearly as much as those Getty Images logos, so there is a good chance that I shall use it. Afterall, it is another great photo. Then again, I like that Instyle mag photo a lot as well.
UPDATE: After printing out both the Harper's Bazaar photo with the logo on it and the Instyle magazine photo, I have decided to use the Harper's Bazaar photo. Let's face it -- Kristen is absolutely stunning in it. So that'll be two photos from that 2019 Harper's Bazaar UK shoot that I shall use for those two CDs.
The photo from the Harper's Bazaar photoshoot is easily my favorite out of all the pictures you posted links to, Carved, as it is oozing with personality and she looks great in it.
Directors, cinematographers, fashion photographers and film critics have often complimented Kristen's photogenic nature, saying the camera loves her. So in the B&W pic from Harper's Bazaar UK, the way Kristen tilted her head upward made her appear even more photogenic than she usually is, as it further accentuates her chin and jawline, which are two of her prominent facial features.
However, some would argue that tipping ones forehead towards the camera with one's chin pointed slightly downward is more flattering.
And lest we forget that for many of her fans, her eyes are second to none--so covering her eyes with shades could be equated to the masking of her most prominent facial feature--this would be my only objection to using this photo.
But then again, Kristen can appear phenomenal staring straight into a camera, which is supposedly a big no-no for anyone who knows a thing or two about photographing faces. And because she has multiple prominent features, covering one of them will by no means prevent her beauty from shining through.
In other words, beauty is in the mind of the beholder and for this Kristen fan, I have yet to see a picture of K-Stew which I don't find aesthetically pleasing in at least one way. Heck, Kristen could break every rule in the book and would still be easy on the eyes.
LL, please remember that the first CD is the one that begins and ends with the Andrew Hale instrumentals which I included as a nod to Kristen's performance in Dying Lover, her short film which was part of The New York Times Magazine collection of shorts titled, Great Performers: L.A. Noir.
I just felt that that black & white pic where Kristen is wearing sunglasses fit the mood of both the short film and the music I opened and closed the CD with. Thus I don't mind that I can't see her eyes in that photo.
Besides, you can definitely see her eyes in the photo with the Harper's Bazaar logo, which I used for the 2nd CD.
Just thought I'd mention that yesterday I repacked 22 Blu-rays into 11 double disc holders, thus freeing up some space in my DVD/Blu-ray cabinet.
The repacked films are ... Equals (2015) w/ Crimes of the Future (2022)
(The Complete) Metropolis (1927) w/ Fahrenheit 451 (1966) Straw Dogs (1971) w/ Play Misty For Me (1971) Striking Distance (1993) w/ Mercury Rising (1998) Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) w/ Uncle Buck (1989) Lost In Translation (2003) w/ Under the Tuscan Sun (2003) Pirate Radio (aka The Boat that Rocked) (2009) w/ CBGB (2013) Green Book (2018) w/ C'mon C'mon (2021) Their Finest (2016) w/ Hugo (2011) Miracle (2004) w/ Youngblood (1986) Zathura (2005) w/ The Messengers (2007)
Kristen's got an interesting connection with Miracle, the film about the 1980 gold medal winning USA hockey team.
In it, Kurt Russell plays Herb Brooks, the coach of the team. Kurt played Kristen's dad in the short film Cutlass, while Herb's wife is played by Patricia Clarkson, who played Kristen's mom in The Safety of Objects.

Cool bit of trivia CK. Cutlass was a good short video with quite a cast for about a 20 minute production. Aside from Kurt Russell -Dakota Fanning, Chevy Chase, Dax Shepard, Sarah Romer, Virgina Madsen.
Safety of Objects was a good character study type movie, also with a strong cast. Glenn Close, Dermot Mulroney, Timothy Oliphant, and as you mentioned Patricia Clarkson.
Speaking of Kristen's onscreen parents, she had several of whom I would rate their roles anywhere from good to exceptional:
In addition to Patricia Clarkson in The Safety of Objects, and Kurt Russell in Cutlass, I would add Robert De Niro and Robin Wright Penn in What Just Happened, Alec Baldwin and Julianne Moore in Still Alice, Tim Robbins in Zathura, Jennifer Beals and Sam Robards in Catch That Kid, Elizabeth Perkins in Speak, Jodie Foster in Panic Room, Billy Burke and Sarah Clarke in The Twilight Saga, Josh Pais and Mary Birdsong in Adventureland, Meg Ryan in In the Land of Women, Dylan McDermott and Penelope Ann Miller in The Messengers, Talia Balsam and Jess L. Martin in The Cake Eaters, Diane Lane and Michael Rooker in Jumper and Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone in Cold Creek Manor.
And one more couple I believe I should add, for while they weren't her onscreen biological or even adoptive parents, they acted just as fatherly and motherly as any of Kristen's other aforementioned parents:
James Gandolphini and Melissa Leo in Welcome to the Rileys.
Just imagine the six degrees of separation possibilities with this list, Carved.
LL, I regret to inform you that you made one small mistake with your list.
In Fierce People, Diane Lane did not play Kristen's mom. She played Anton Yelchin's mom. Kristen's mom was played by Elizabeth Perkins. This was the second film in a row where Elizabeth played Kristen's mom, as Kristen's prior film to FP was Speak.
Oh yeah, speaking of family members, let us not forget that Donald Sutherland played Kristen's grandfather in Fierce People.
I'm pretty sure that this was the only film Kristen's done where we see a grandparent.
Finally, since you included Mary Birdsong, who played Kristen's not-so-nice step-mom in Adventureland, I guess we'll also have to include her despicably evil step-mom, Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman.
Thus the six degrees of separation possibilities continues to grow.
Thanks for the correction, Carved--I edited my post by omitting that entry.
Fierce People has got to be one of Kristen's most underrated films considering a compelling coming-of-age storyline and a great cast, especially Donald Sutherland. And as usual, Kristen displayed good chemistry and held her own starring alongside other talented actors.
