According to Kristen's IMDb page, the David Cronenberg directed Crimes of the Future has just had its status changed from preproduction to filming. ... https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0829576/
A check on Crimes of the Future's IMDb page shows no further updates other than the project being "In Production," so we still don't know the main character's names. ... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14549466/
Be that as it may, here's hoping that all goes well in Athens, Greece, where the production is taking place.
Then in one month, it's off to Venice, where Spencer will have its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
A deep dive into the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, altering their biological makeup.
I like that it's a Sci-Fi thriller, one of my favorite movie genres. She sure does keep busy too though!
"As we begin filming Crimes of the Future, just two days into this new adventure with David Cronenberg, it feels like we've entered a story collaborated on with Samuel Beckett and William Burroughs, if that were possible," said Mortensen in a statement. "We are being pulled into a world that is not quite like this or any other, and yet is one that feels strangely familiar, immediate and quite credible. I can't wait to see where we end up."
I really had to laugh when I saw Viggo refer to William Burroughs, because Viggo's character, Old Bull Lee in On the Road, the previous film that Viggo and Kristen were in together, was actually William Burroughs.
Meanwhile, this project is becoming more and more intriguing to me. As Viggo said, "I can't wait to see where we end up."

The trade papers have also reported that Crimes of the Future is currently filming, Ron.
Right, I saw that on the link you posted. Agreed also on this project is becoming more interesting to me. As I said, one of my favorite genres is sci-fi thrillers. :)
Meanwhile, since Viggo brought up William Burroughs, I see that on Kristen's IMDb page under Projects In Development, that the "Untitled William S. Burroughs Project" is still listed.
Uhh, it's been like three or four years now since we first heard about this project.
If I remember correctly, Kristen was supposed to play Burroughs' wife whom he shoots and kills.
Since we have heard absolutely nothing more since then, I just assumed that said project is dead and buried (just like Burroughs' wife).
I wonder why it is still listed.
Probably just laziness on IMDb's part that it hasn't been removed.
It is curious why that project is still listed. Maybe IMDB has it listed incorrectly. Then too, some of these projects take a long time to get started, or are hopefuls waiting on funding or other issues.
Ron, it's obvious to me that IMDb should simply remove the Untitled William S. Burroughs project from the Projects In Development section and replace it with "Untitled LLOwens Project".
Yeah, that's the ticket. ;-)
While my screenplay is taking much longer than planned Carved, as the rewrites are taking forever, it sure appears as if I''ll be finished with it before the "Untitled William S. Burroughs Project" is greenlit.
"... it sure appears as if I'll be finished with it before the 'Untitled William S. Burroughs Project' is greenlit."
Of that I have no doubt, LL.
Meanwhile, I have been giving more and more thought to Viggo's, "I can't wait to see where we end up," statement.
I assume that he would already know that provided he was given a complete script of the project beforehand.
So I am now left to wonder whether Cronenberg is shooting in a linear fashion, i.e. shooting scenes in the order that they appear in the script, and is only revealing the script in small sections at a time.
Of all the films that Kristen has been in, I am only aware of one that was shot in a linear fashion.
That film was Zathura, and I know this because Jon Favreau, Zathura's director, says it was on his Director's Commentary on the DVD/Blu-ray. He shot the film that way because the continuing destruction of the house throughout the course of the film forced him to do so. They didn't want to destroy portions of the set only to have to rebuild it so that earlier scenes could be shot.
Be that as it may, I sure wouldn't mind if the character's names were posted at Crimes of the Future's IMDb page. The only one I'm positive about is that Viggo is playing Saul Tenser. It would be nice to know if Kristen or Lea is playing his partner Caprice, and what roles everyone else is playing. Btw, I see that IMDb had added a few more actors to the cast list.

That certainly makes sense! When watching films with fighting or damage being done to buildings, things like that, I sometimes think about what it took to do the scene. Especially heavy fight scenes which can take days and elaborate setups and choreographing by the actors and stunt people.
