Well deserved, she is a great actress.
AGREE...ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO HER WORK.π
shareShe deserves it, fantastic actress.
shareGood for her, she's done a lot of excellent work in many roles. Many were smaller artistic roles and films which didn't really get the attention of many movie goers, but she won many awards for them, especially at film festivals.
shareI think people write her off due to Twilight but she is such a good actress. Even in Twilight Roger Ebert was singing her praises due to her acting. People should look into her pre and post Twilight work to really appreciate her talent.
shareAgreed on that, and it's something I've felt for a long time.
shareIndeed, been a fan since Panic Room. It has bee nice to see her varied body of work over the years.
shareI also first saw her in Panic Room, and I was amazed at such a young kid doing a great job alongside Jodie Foster. Forest Whitaker and others in the cast. Later in movies like The Cake Eaters where she portrayed a sick teen and doing another great job at the role.
shareI really like her, find her extremely watchable, but a great actress? Seems she has a narrow range and struggles with real drama.
shareCan you give examples of her "struggles with real drama"?
shareA critical scene in Shopper wear she talks about her brother's death, her overall affect in JT Leroy. Only seen those two, Clouds and Underwater so my perspective is limited.
While I find her very watchable, I find she lacks that high dramatic ability you get from say Blanchett, Streep, etc. That may be in part be due to the roles she plays, though she may not be offered meatier roles for a reason.
GIVE HER 30 YEARS TO CATCH UP TO THOSE ICONS.
shareShe's done some good work sure, I don't hate her at all but a bit shocked that the critics loved her. Whatever. Congrats to her.
