Kristen's performance as Maureen in Personal Shopper Blew Me Away--I'm Floored!

The critics were right--Kristen was sensational in Personal Shopper! I was so impressed--make that absolutely blown away by Kristen's critically acclaimed performance in PS that I decided on doing two edits containing my fave clips of her role as Maureen:

This is great to hear that you were so moved by her performance! She has gotten many excellent reviews by critics in that, and I should say again as she's gotten some great reviews in many of her roles just over the past few years. I'm still waiting to see it, hopefully soon but likely on cable TV via On Demand. :) Great news LL. :)

Was surprised Ron particularly because I enjoyed it so much despite the fact that supernatural horror films are my least fave film sub-genre--although one can't quite classify Personal Shopper nor shoehorn this film into one particular genre. Additionally, Kristen's acting transcends whatever type of role or film she is cast in and thus I enjoy watching her in everything she has ever starred in.

I think this is something that many critics have commented positively on. I enjoy some horror type films, it depends. I usually don't like the slasher types like Friday the 13th films, but I like others that have drama mixed in. Kristen has had a couple with The Messengers and now Personal Shopper. I also liked Lights Out with Teresa Palmer, The Darkness with Kevin Bacon and others like those.

Over the past year I've seen a handful that would match this criteria: The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, Angel Heart, The Devil's Advocate and The Others.

Personal Shopper is 80% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, along with other similar very good reviews on other venues. Kirsten especially receiving excellent praise in reviews even where a reviewer wasn't as positive on the movie.

Yes Ron, the critics in general praised Kristen's performance in Personal Shopper, as 85% of the top film critics liked it, several of whom gave her rave reviews.

Additionally, this film has a score of 77 on Metacritic which is higher than any film released in theaters over the past 3 weeks, with the exception of James Gray's "The Lost City of Z" starring Robert Pattinson, which has a score of 78:

So much for those who claimed that Kristen and Robert's careers would be over after their stint with Twilight.

Wait, wait, wait... This is supernatural horror?! I hadn't even watched the trailer because the synopsis was so vague, so thanks!

I also wasn't too keen on Miss Stewart until I saw her hosting SNL, but she is just so darn genuine and endearing!

I agree with you on that. :)

Some of the reasons I like Kristen is because she seems very much like a down to earth person. She doesn't seem to get much into the glitz of Hollywood. I like the kind of work she takes on, often interesting and challenging roles and often in smaller or Indie movies. She loves the film industry and would be working in it in some way if she wasn't acting, she has said. :)

Besides Personal Shopper, which I haven't seen yet as it's only at select theaters, she's done played many other good roles and has often received good critical praise for her work. She became well known for Twilight but she was doing interesting and challenging roles before, during and now after Twilight.

LL, just a heads-up that there seems to be a new private message service here, so I just sent you one.
Click on the envelope in the black bar at the top of the page.

The PM service works like a charm Carved! Glad this site is becoming more and more like the former IMDb message boards. Thanks for the heads-up!
