I liked most of the movies this guy did and they used to be big deals upon release. The last movie he did was Odd Thomas in 2013 and was quietly released to no attention. He is only credited as producer in name only with the straight to DVD Scorpion King movies. Also he has no shady history or allegations against him. Does anyone know why stopped making movies?

Sam Raimi is another who hasn't directed much in recent times. Fede Alvarez made Evil Dead and Don't Breathe before fucking off to producer land.

As for Sommers. I like his films, Deep Rising (1998) is my fave of his. Odd Thomas (2013) was good too.
