I believe Ian's 'TVD' wardrobe is by designer John Varvatos.

Im not sure, but it seems to me that he wore one very similar in Smallville season 3 Whisper. Who ever styled him in that show seem to carry the vibe through to vampire diaries. (unless it was his own jacket, and he just likes the way it looks) for me he is one of my favorite actors. just saying.
