Is Ian really genuine?

I haven't met either of them but I've only heard good things about Ian. He's always willing to talk to the fans, sign autographs etc. and answers his fan mail whenever he gets the time. When his ex-girlfriend Meghan was being constantly bombarded with e-mails from a clearly obsessed fan of Ian's (her Twitter page was proof), he Tweeted her and politely asked her to stop e-mailing her, even giving out his fanmail address (e-mail)

As for Nina, I've heard that she's lovely (I read that someone met her at a convention and Nina remembered having met them previously, so she took them over to talk to the other 'TVD' cast members) but some people who have encountered her on set during filming 'TVD' have described her as 'stand-offish'. I'm guessing she just wants to concentrate on her work, but I also think she's been more cautious around the fans ever since her relationship with Ian became public knowledge. When they were photographed together in Paris with their mothers, she was bombarded with Tweets from jealous fans. One even called her a 'b**ch' for being with him. There's also a YouTube video of them being swarmed by a group of fans and even though Ian is polite to them, I think he just wanted to get Nina and himself back to their hotel as quick as possible.

Yeah the "horror stories" about Nina are probably coming from mainly Ian fangirls that are jealous of her. That's the sad reality the girlfriends of these heartthrob actors have to deal with. There's always a section of their fandom that are crazy and have this delusional idea that they deserve a say in who their favorite actor is dating.

Ian seems to be a truly genuine guy. He has his own foundation he's incredibly active in, as well as anything he can get his hands on. He comes off a smidge cocky about his looks, but mostly he seems sweet. I've heard nothing about Nina, so couldn't contribute on that one.
