The "Snyder formula"
Have you ever wanted to make a "good" comic book movie with no film making experiece? Just follow the Snyder formula, and you'll have DCEU fanboys build a narrative around your film. So easy, a 5 year old can do it!
-Cast virtually anyone (DCEU fanboys don't care who gets cast as long as the writing suits theirs needs).
-Revamp the comic book characters' "out-dated" appearances for a "modern age"
-Copy "Batman Begins" if you're doing an origin film. Just insert random flashbacks in any point in the film. It doesn't have to tie in with the film's overall narrative, DCEU fanboys don't look for that.
-Give your film a "dark & gritty" aesthetic. Make the cinematography look muted, make the characters mope a lot, this will give your film an overall dreary atmosphere. This adds nothing to the film, but fanboys will dig it because anything "dark & depressing" is considered good.
-Insert some throwaway jokes here and there, so the fanboys can point to these moments as the film's excuse for "not being too dark."
-Keep the characters' core personalities 100% comic book accurate. Throw in tons of comic book references. (This is very important or the film will not work)
-Insert tons of action sequences, featuring tons of CGI and destruction. This will not only "lighten" the film, but will satisfy the fanboy-manbabies' craving for "kewl" action-sequences in the film. The action doesn't have to add anything to the story and you don't have to show the aftermath of the action sequences. Watch the Bayformers movies for inspiration.
-You can have your main character kill the villian in the end as long as you throw some vague throwaway line afterwards.
-Throw in tons of exposition to explain plot conveniences and contrivances.
-Tease for the next film at the end in a post credit scene. This ensure's your film will be good no matter what because everything will be explained in the next film.
-Get Christopher Nolan's name attached for bonus points!
If you copy this blueprint, you'll have a film that will be perceived as "good". Let the fans do the work by going after anyone who dares to criticize your film.
Seems so easy to make a DCEU film.
