5-0 Decision by Illinois Supreme Court to Dismiss Case

I TOLD YOU SO!!!

You can't ignore evidence, retry cases and commit due process SOLELY BASED ON PUBLIC OPINION.

Judges unanimous decision:

"Today we resolve a question about the State’s responsibility to honor the
agreements it makes with defendants. Specifically, we address whether a dismissal
of a case by nolle prosequi allows the State to bring a second prosecution when the
dismissal was entered as part of an agreement with the defendant and the defendant
has performed his part of the bargain. We hold that a second prosecution under
these circumstances is a due process violation, and we therefore reverse defendant’s
conviction."

This case was a with hunt from the beginning.

I never watched an episode of American Idol or NCIS.

I have sent two tweets my entire life.

I never signed up for Instagram.

I remember reading about him though.

reply

He’s a true hero. They’ll be painting water tower murals of his image and naming merchant marine ships in his honor

reply

Absolutely! It's so sad that minorities are constantly and grossly oppressed in modern America, the supposed Land of the Free. True, Smollett had to hire two Nigerians to be oppressed in this particular case, but it doesn't change the fact that America is the most EVIL nation in human history. Why people of all skin colors from all over the globe keep willingly pouring into the USA -- legally or illegally -- is a great mystery!

As an intellectual, you might be aware of the concept of:

1. deductive reasoning
2. abductive reasoning

So 1 is where you start with a rule and then predict --> effects or conclusions.
2 is where you observe effects and then

reply

So this is a complete exoneration? Everything he said is true?

reply

Im bafflaed at the OP bragging "I told you so" about a piece of hot garbage like smollett. What a strange land-fill hill to die on. And I love the OP says "it was a witch hunt".... Nobody was after smollet, no one knew he existed before all of this. i.e. no witch hunt.

Its like a genie wish that backfires. "I want to be known by all becuase im an important actor and the next gay Tupac, make it so genie!!"

....BLAM!! "Now everyone knows you buuutttttt..... You flew too close to the sun, son. You mortal human. Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha!"

reply

Everything done after Smollet met conditions of the deal with the D.A. was dismissed as per the Illinois Supreme Court.

reply

Everything he said is true?

reply

Irrelevant. The case was dismissed. A new special prosecutor and trial should never had taken place afterwards since it was based solely on public pressure aka lynch mob aka witch hunt.

reply

Do you think everything he said is true?

reply

Not relevant. Case ended.

reply

So he's innocent? Everything he said is true?
