shareThere is no money involved as Smollett is out on a own recognizance bail which means he doesn't need to put any money up for bail. If Smollett fails to appear in court a warrant will be issued for his arrest and he will owe the bail money then.

He’ll be kept in protective custody for his safety, imagine these Corrections Officers dealing with this weasel every day…it must be maddening for them, I’d imagine we’d all like to slap the jerk and dump him into the General Population
What's unfortunate is all of the enablers behind him, specifically his family..Why the hell they haven't convinced him to just fucking apologize and show remorse if beyond me. What I'm seeing here is an absurd amount of entitlement.

This is a risky move for Smollet. The judge in his appeal could do one of three things:
- decrease the punishment
- increase the punishment
- uphold the punishment.
It would be funny if the judge increased his punishment
