I can't say whether she's half white but any black person with fair skin is mixed it just doesn't necessarily mean that it's one of her parents, it could be one of her grandparents or anyone else down the line. Nearly everyone I meet, they think I'm white and both my parents are black but are fair-skin due to the past lineage (Irish, English, German). My siblinsg (5), except one, are all darker than my parents. Hope this helps.

No offense ppurplepix but where did you pick up that particular piece of knowledge? There are many fair skinned people in Africa that are not of mixed race heritage especially those that used to be called the !Kung but I can't remember their name right now. They have the epicanthic folds to their eyes which make them look Asian and they have a light skin tone. However, seeing as they were one of the last food foraging tribes and thus, would not have stayed in a place long enough for their entire tribe to become mixed, there was very little chance of them being mixed race.

sorry raveoddgrl... but those people that you're talking about are in the southern region of Africa and they are of mixed ancestry. it's a tribe that has mixed with Asian (China more precisely.) it's a mix that goes really far back, but because it's a tribe they intermarry between them and that's why it seems like they all look very similar (light skin, slanted eyes, and sometimes even red hair). yes they are African, but blood other than African exists within them.

Any light or fair skinned people in Africa are mixed. no exceptions.

ummm sweetheart. Were did you do your research? whoever told you that lied their asses off or either you misinterpreted somthing. Im so sick of hearing people say that all Africans have dark skin. NOT TRUE!!! My father is African and fair skinned and red hair and both of his parents are African. So i dont know who you got your info from but its wrong sista girl.

That's true. People forget that Africa is a contitent and that more than one type of people/ethnicity live in there. My school gets a lot of foreign exchange students from Egypt and they consider themselves African but aren't black African.

Egyptians are 'Caucasoid' or 'Arabid'.
'Black' Africans are 'Negroid'.

Egypt (formally known as Kemet) had a native population of Negroid decent. However, the ruling population there now is Caucosoid/Arabid. But the latter invaded the land during the Islamic crusades. There were also other lighter complexioned people (e.g. the Berbers) before Arabs who displaced the native Negroid population.
