Positive Report on his Pennywise performance.
On FB, someone who has talked to Bill and Muschietti I guess during filming mentioned and praised Bill's performance and not did he see some of the footage (more of the sewer scenes) but also saw the audition tapes of Bill and Hugo Weaving's and explains why Bill was chosen...
Here's his comments:
"I have the honor and privilege of talking with Bill and the films director very often. People are gonna be suprised by the amount of charisma and twisted humor Bill is bringing to the table. Hugo's take was plain creepy, and though effective it didn't have much more to offer. Tim Currys take while fun was kind of stiff because of the limits they had on television, but this film is not going to let up. It will be a HARD R, giving Pennywise's character a whole new level of messed up."
"No real specific accent as much as he definetly has two different unique voices he switches between when being friendly or evil."
" I have seen my fair share of footage. I saw both audition tapes for Hugo and Bill and while I wasn't at the wrap party I did see some of the footage shown there as well as some of the sewer scene. Bill really immersed himself in the role, and while it's very different from Tim Currys it's still a pretty incredible performance. He's got the creepy factor down but man is he good at drawing you in when he is luring in kids like Georgie. The voice and facial expressions almost flip completely when he transforms. The costume is also a lot more effective while he's moving than it was in the still image we've got. And as I've said before, the best part is that you really get the sense that hunting and eating children is fun to him, hence his one-liners and that creepy grin."
"As I said, it wasn't very believable Hugo's take on Pennywise could lure in any kids. Bill while staying the same character almost completely flips from one side to the other when luring in his victims."
Here's the page, his name is Lloyd Pagett:
