I see a lot of actors like JK in movies that cost 25 million and only make 3 million. In the old days an actor couldn't survive one or two of these financial disasters but nowadays it's quite common. I wonder if they get their money back by selling to streaming services?

possibly. also I think its Hollywood maths. a good film doesnt "make money". that'd be lots of taxes. they want them all the break even, or in some cases have loses on the books
