I had never heard this guy's name and I didn't recognise him while watching this either. So I checked him out on this site and I have seen 16 other titles which feature him. And there was I thinking he had come from nowhere.
Did anybody else watch Whiplash and think they hadn't seen him before too?

He is a prolific character actor who has a very distinctive face and voice. I have been a fan for nearly 2 decades.
