Think he's a good lazy director

I don't think his movies are that good but the way he's handled filmmaking in hollywood in terms of his lazy messy presentation, that's how I would like to handle my hollywood presentation as a director.... and not feel pressured.

not a bad way to put it. he has always bragged about being a "one draft only" screenwriter, and i think that's severely hurt him. had some of his movies had more drafts and more rewrites, they probably would've been really good. he's a director who thinks he has to just be born excellent without working at it.
