Why Hasn't This Guy Done A Bollywood Movie?

Honestly it's most likely because his style does not work with what most people who watch Bollywood movies expect out of Bollywood movies. He's very European in his style, where he takes long extended shots with deliberate slow pacing and he focuses more on atmosphere. Bollywood movies are more colorful, fast and fun pacing, and a lot of quick cuts. People like Baz Luhrman and Danny Boyle posses a more Bollywood style.

I would assume it's all about the money. His budget for a Hollywood movie would end up being the total box office collection for an Indian movie.

Shyamalan spent the first six weeks of his life in India, and has been living in America since. I spent my first year in Italy, I don't consider it my motherland. The guy is american... isn't it enough for you ?
