Extremely effective and ORIGINAL Moriarty

After an extremely intense build-up throughout Series 1, I was utterly shocked at how against-type the characterization of Moriarty was. I was expecting an older, very dry Englishman and instead got a prancing effeminate young psychopath. Loved it, and his performance was utterly captivating. Kudos to the writers and especially Andrew Scott for taking an iconic villain and having the guts to present him in a totally unique way. I really hope he has more screentime in Series 2.

Young Sherlock meaning having a younger Moriarty makes sense.

Completely agree. Its simply captivating and at some points he takes my breath away. I don't think I have ever found a character, either on television or in motion picture, this intriguing. The writers and Scott have really done magnificent work with their take on Moriarty. There is this chilling charm to his evil that makes him take an already can't-miss show to a higher level. I really can't stress enough brilliant I think the whole interpretation is.
