I'm French and no,she's not massive yet. She's just a rising star at the moment. And the movie will be in both Flemish & French just like Bullhead (2011).

I guess Adèle will act in Flemish while Schoenaerts will speak both languages. I think it's a better idea than do it in English, since she doesn't speak the language very well (or at least she didn't a couple years ago; have no idea if she's improved since then).

Anyway, I feel it's a brilliant pairing and I think he should keep working with Roskam as often as possible: he's just the right director for him. "Bullhead" and "The Drop" were both really good and perfectly showcased his ability to play dark/twisted characters.

I am a huge Matthias fan in the states. I love the movies he has done with Roskam but he needs to branch out with directors. I have seen all of Matthias's movies that I can here most more than once. He is a magnificent actor. He out played everyone in the Drop. He did so much with Eric Deeds and it was a small part. His Jersey accent was better than Gandolfini (who I adore even in his passing) who was from Jersey!! Eric just resonated. He needs to take some risks. Just look at the careers of Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender. True Fassbender has McQueen. But the roles were extraordinary. Matthias is as good an actor and artist as he showed in Bullhead and Rust and Bone. I hope he chooses a variety of parts that really bring out his talent. He can play the heavy as well as a romantic leading man and everything in between. It seems that he is retreating back to France and Belgium. Looking forward to A Bigger Splash....pushed back until May here in the USA and the Danish Girl. He truly can become one of the best not just in Belgium or France but throughout the movie going world!!!

Don't get me wrong: I didn't mean that he should just stick to work with Roskam and avoid risks. What I meant is that the two films he did with Roskam are so far my favourites in his entire resume, so, if possible, he should always cherish the opportunity to do more work with the director, since he's so far been able to serve him so well. Their current track together is 2-2 (or maybe 3-3? Haven't seen the short they had previously done). I also have faith in this collaboration with Adèle.

I think it was a Brooklyn accent he was doing, but yeah, it sounded perfectly American. He and Gandolfini were great in the film. I also think Noomi Rapace gave her best post-Lisbeth Salander performance. I took issue with some of Hardy's choices in a few acting scenes, but that didn't really detract for my overall enjoyment of the film.

I do agree that 2 of his best films were with Roskam. I think they are magic together. You may be right about the accent. I also agree that Noomi did an excellent job. Do try to see the short. I saw it since it was included with the Bullhead DVD. It is quite interesting and very well done.

I was hoping he would branch out a little more given the so so results of 2015. He needs another great role as in Rust and Bone and Bullhead. Hopefully he and Roskam can pull it off again. I am not really familiar with Adele. I only know her from Blue is the Warmest Color. I was surprised at the choice of her as a love interest for Matthias. She is so young and really appears that way to me.

His other co-stars have been more mature. Seems to be a better fit for him. I will reserve judgment until the film is released. Roskam seems to be a good judge when it comes to casting.

I know Dakota Johnson is mid-twenties but that was part of the script in A Bigger Splash. Looking forward to that film but we have to wait until May 2016 here in the USA.

At least Danish Girl will open in November but there is no word if and when Disorder will be shown here.

I am hoping he is not withdrawing to Belgium and France as some other European actors who did not have critical success here in the US. He needs to choose his roles wisely.
